This has been a long lonely isolating exp.
~Thanks for the tribal greetings! I needed to be on here yr.s ago. For a while now I've been depressed, & not in a social mode.
I'm still in a state of disbelief that my Harvoni train arrived and I've boarded it.
Tig is so right about finding your advocate..they know how to talk to the Ins.,& Drug companies.
I was fortunate to find an Angel named Jennifer who worked with a passion to get her patients' covered.

I feel very lucky to be getting 24 weeks completely covered. I have a feeling they will try to push for 12 for most. Got this today. They are covering my $1200 per month co-pay.
"I wanted to let you know that you have been approved by Momentum for copay assistance for your medication. The medication will continued to be covered 100%."

Welcome RJ!
Glad you found your way here. I'm fairly new here too, just started Viekia/riba a month ago. I've waited to be treated since I was diagnosed in the mid 90's, and still can't believe these long awaited miracle drugs are finally here. I feel so blessed that our insurance is covering the cost for both me and my husband and that we're finally on the road to SVR!

Hi Rettajane!
I, too, just made it into Gilead's support path and was covered for 12 weeks of Harvoni. I know the gratefulness that you feel! I finished treatment 5-23-15. I feel like I have a new lease on life. I keep it simple for me: Before Harvoni I felt as if I had a foot in the grave from the extreme fatigue. I literally did one task and was done for the day. After Harvoni: I feel like a different person. I've done things I hadn't done in years. To sum it up -- I feel alive again. Everyone has different side effects -- for me, I had a headache here and there, mostly from not keeping hydrated -- and that was it.
Welcome to this forum. You'll find a great bunch of kind and knowledgeable folks that will help you along the way....

Hi Rettajane, welcome!
Yes you were very lucky, and it`s great to hear that you`ve started your Harvoni treatment at long last! You`ve found a good friendly group here and we`re glad to have you with us, feel free to look around the forum and join in the discussion threads.
We say it all the time, but do make sure you keep yourself well hydrated at all times during your treatment by drinking plenty of water, many of our members have told us how much it helps with the side effects.
Best of luck, and do let us know how it goes! I`m sure others will be along to greet you too.

Hi guys,
I'm new here. I'm a baby boomer who was diagnosed in 2000. I've been waiting many years for these amazing drugs to come out.
This has been a wild and exhausting experience, but I was approved recently for Gileads' PAP. I didn't think it would happen(many times). I had to start over a couple of times. Gilead changed their rules about who they would help(July 1st)..I'd just gotten in by the Grace of God...
I'm on day 5 of 12 weeks of Harvoni,I'm so very grateful....side effects-not too bad, I do feel more tired and achy with minor head-aches.
I still feel stunned, and shaken up. I also feel like a extremely lucky woman!
I pray everyone who wants this new drug WILL get it.
I'll go for my 1st blood tests a month after starting.
