Fatigue seems a little better today..thanks for the pep talks. Should have new lab results in a few days. My RBC count was good last time so will be interesting to see where I'm at now.

Hi Ziggy, there`s no easy fix for the riba induced fatigue, unfortunately! Just try and go with it and take extra rest when you can.
Not much longer to go now and knowing that the treatment is working must be a huge boost! Take care...

Hi Ziggy
Thats sound about right with riba in the mix. It clobbered me at week 7 and only got worse with 41 weeks left. Lucky for ppl now those horror stories are a thing of the past but we know what you feel like. 4 weeks to go and your undetect you got this in the bag. Hang in there and on to SVR!!!!!

Hi Ziggy. Based on my experience I would suspect your fatigue is due to the Ribavirin causing some depletion of your RBC and low Hb. There aren't too many who can "breeze through" Riba without experiencing fatigue to some extent. It's good you only have 4 more weeks to go, then your system should start recovering from the Riba, but it may take some time. It will all be worth it when you get that SVR result!

Thanks for filling in your signature line, Ziggy, it`s great to see how well your ALT and AST levels have come down!
I love the sound of that breakfast too, you`ve got us all drooling here! It`s important to eat well while on treatment as well as keeping yourself well hydrated and it sounds like you`ve found a good strategy to help minimise the side effects.
Keep going, not long now!

Hey Ziggy,
I'm glad to hear you're over the hump and starting to feel better. It often takes the first month to get past those early side effects. You're doing everything right, continue to take care and treating yourself right. Now, after your post, I'm going to have to find something to eat, you did a great job of making me hungry!

Thanks for response. Added info in my signature. Glad I'm over the hump with only 5 weeks to go. Not a walk in the park. I've had minimal side effects mostly fatigue. Started coming on around week 4....I found eating a big breakfast helps. Used to eat just toast and a cup of coffee. Now eating full meal of eggs, hash browns, sausage, toast, etc. Makes a difference in how I get thru the day. Ziggy

Hi Ziggy,
Welcome to the forum from me as well. As already mentioned, there is an abundance of information available here for all things concerning HCV and a very helpful group of members that are willing to help. When I first joined I was not familiar with some of the terminology and abbreviations used on the forum, such as in member signatures which Tig56 mentioned. If this is the case for you a link to a list of abbreviation definitions and some information on creating your own signature can be found by clicking here.
I'm glad you found the forum and look forward to having you as a fellow member as we travel this road to being free of Hep C.

Hi Ziggy, welcome!
I don`t think you need to worry, there is very little difference between a viral load result of <15 detected or undetected. The main thing at this stage is that your viral load has gone right down. Do you have any other lab results you could share, for example your ALT and AST levels?
I`m glad you found us, you`ll find this is a very helpful and friendly group.
Best of luck with the rest of your treatment!

Hi Ziggy,
Welcome to the crowd! It's not typical to hear that your VL would go undetected and then reappear, but I have heard of it before. It may have been right on the cusp the first time and the fact that it's <15 would indicate it's barely there. I would expect it to be UND by your next test. It's extremely rare for you to be detected by EOT using any of the new DAA protocols, so I wouldn't be too concerned with this "hiccup".
If you feel like it, you can enter your info into your signature line. It helps us to understand your own set of circumstances. It also allows for better informed opinions if you have any questions during treatment. You can see on other posts what some have added to theirs. You can add any information via your profile page. Be sure to check out our search function for topics discussed here on the forum.
We have a great bunch here and I'm sure others will be along to welcome you soon. If you have any questions, please ask. I'm looking forward to following your upcoming success! Good luck!

New to forum...genotype 1b started 12 wk treatment VP/RIBA (1200) on July 13th. At start VL3mil, undetectable at 3 weeks but detectable at 5 weeks <15. Doc says this is unusual but seen once in awhile. All else good w/ blood work, etc. feeling ok so far.
