This is wonderful news. So happy to hear Angelo is on the list. We go back to Mt Sinai tomorrow for Tom's MRI. Hoping his cancer didn't return and he is hep c free. Won't get his blood count results back tomorrow but are praying for the best. Did Angelo meet with Dr Sciano too? He is head of the liver transplant at Mt Sinai. He is actually good friends with Tom's gastro doctor up state here and is the reason Tom's liver cancer was found. Sounds like Angelo is in the best of hands. We think of you often and pray everything goes as planned. Keep up the faith.
Fondly,
Laura and Tom

Hello everyone, it has been a while since I have written an update in Angelo's condition.
Let's see :
EOT 24 wks Harvoni on May 10, 2015
UND : 4 wks, 13 wks.
After Radioimbolization and TACE for his HCC ( 2 tumors)he was able to meet the MILAN Criteria which qualifies him to get on the Liver Translantation list.
Although his MELD score is 11, because of his circumstances, it was increased to 22 as a starting point.
He will be monitored every 3 months at which time if everything is status quo, 2 more points will be added to the score.
The evaluation was extensive, we met with a social worker, nurse, hepatologist, nutritionist,
Done a CT scan of his chest, colonoscopy & endoscopy.
Pending: MRI and surgeon visit, Cardiologist & Stress test.
His last tumor marker was 8.7
All in all we feel so blessed and have faith that his future is very promising!
I hope that all of you who are still fighting the DRAGON will succeed in slaying it permanently and move on to an healthier life!
Mena & Angelo
Ok, so Angelo as of September 1 was put on the Liver Transplant List at Mount Sinai!
That is excellent, watch that AFP score ...... and during the waiting months maybe ask to alternate in a CT with contrast instead of MRI every time, that's what i wish i had done as for some reason my recurring HCC showed up much better on the CT even though it wouldn't have mattered once it's there its there.
Best wishes and prayers that you get your liver and it provides for many more good years to come.

Hi Mena,
Thanks for the update, and it's great that Angelo has achieved SVR.
Hopefully his liver will quieten down, and the HCC problem may resolve.
Good luck for the next MRI- I hope it's clear. Cheers.
