I had high blood pressure for a little while at the start of treatment and maybe a few brief periods since. I don't know if I can post a link to another forum but if you do a google search of "harvoni high blood pressure" you will see it is common to one degree or another. Some people go on med's...I was already on them before tx. Hang in there...it does seem to pass.
I have hard various degrees of lower back pain when waking but roll on a medicine ball to massage myself and stretch...and since the last month I have greatly increased my water consumption...all which has made things much better.

If you follow other forums you will see that many are anxious on Harvoni at times. I sure was here or there. I have a history of panic attacks many many years ago and can see how someone can have one on this medication if you feeling very anxious from it. Many also have blood pressure all over the place at times as well. Keep your eye on the prize Judy. I feel if I finished it anyone can!! I am a major baby about taking any medication and Harvoni made me feel drugged everyday I took it. But my son reminded me I had no choice in the matter and it was a life and death decision to complete it. It is still better than the old medications..... with much worse odds. I think was your past your first week or ten days it will settle down for you. Get a routine going. Are you taking it at day or night? It made me very tired so I took mine with dinner and relaxed every night. Warm bath if your feeling anxious can help to relax you. Or take a nice nature walk. That always grounded me. Find what brings you some peace. You can do this!

Haven't heard of any left lower back pain or blood pressure issues yet. Hopefully it is just the panic and nothing else. Glad you went to ER as best to check. Not all symptoms are harvoni related and there could be something else going on.
I've had tinnitus for years. Use to it now, and sleep with tv or music on to mute it.
The meds are new to your system so hopefully these symptoms will calm down for you if they are from harvoni. Take care of yourself. Will be thinking of you!

To follow up, my BP taken during the post "undetected" bloodtest a few days ago was 102/67, a fairly low reading for me. I guess that would suggest that Harvoni doesn't generally produce elevated BP or hypertension as a side-effect.
The only tested blood chemistry that was out of range was my hematocrit, which was very slightly above the "normal" range. I believe hematocrit is a measure of the red cell to plasma ratio and will read high if the subject is dehydrated. Interesting, since this tends to support all the advice from experienced forum members that we should drink plenty of water during Harvoni treatment.

Hey Jude
Hang in there, try some calming by deep breathing or walking and make sure your hydrating well all day and before you go to sleep. Your system is trying to cope so you need to give it extra attention, we are pulling for your treatment completion with SVR in your future.

We had another member experience something similar Judith. After the first episode it didn't present anymore problems, but it took a couple weeks for her to start feeling better. I'm glad you'll be talking to your doctor tomorrow. Let us know what you find out.

I'm on about day 35. I've had mild tinnitis for years which seems slightly worse on Harvoni. Haven't checked BP since starting the treatment, so I don't know if mine's elevated. Could be the novelty of a "cure" at last has made us all a bit sensitive and anxious. I have had occasional mild headaches and increased fatigue which may be from the Harvoni. My 28-day viral RNA came back "undetected," so I'm really optimistic about the treatment's efficacy and (so far for me) mild sides. Hope you won't experience any more sides requiring ER visits Judy.

Spent the morning in the ER with left side lower back aching, ears ringing and elevated blood pressure. Had a panic attack come on top of it all. Not sure what's going on but they gave me some Ativan to calm me down. BP went down, so did ear ringing. Will follow up with doctors tomorrow. About to take my 4th Harvoni pill tonight.
