I am sure there are other viruses hiding out in other organs of the human body. This is why we need a healthy imune system. Let's not over read this. Don't want to jinx anything now. Thumbs up.

Hey DM and Bubble,
Yeah - I started on 6 riba a day. Plus size meds for plus size gals! LOL!!
I never heard that about the virus hiding out in other organs. I thought once it cleared the blood you were pretty much home free. Now I see why Matt said to exercise and raise my pulse - to get the medicated blood pumping into all the organs, right?

Thanks Bubble, Matt, and Marsha,
Just got home from the doc. He decided since I'm doing so well with sx and my HGB is back up to 11.2, I should pop another riba with my morning meds. Last month he dropped me down to 1 in the a.m. and 2 in the p.m. Now it will be 2 twice a day. Still better than the original 3. I offered to do the full 3 (what the heck is wrong with me???) but he said 2 would be fine.
Matt, interesting advice, about the virus hiding in the nooks and crannies. Gonna start walking!

Great news Penny! I read somewhere that the virus can hang out in other organs, like your brain, etc. So thats why we keep taking the meds even after und. Gotta get the lurkers. I also read that the hcv virus is the only virus that will have some virus's sacrifice themselves , in order to distract the meds from where they are really causing damage. Its one crafty virus.
where you originally on 6 ribas per day??
ugh.

Hey Penny
Congrats on acheiving your UND, its a big deal to feel that your blood is clear of the virus. Its the kind of day that you will come to cherish.
Keep up your good habits and stay 100% compliant as this clearing of your blood is wonderful, but now its onward to search and destroy what remaining /hiding HCV that is in your Liver and other parts.
Best advice I can give at this point is to stay physically active by raising your pulse rate by walking or some other exercise. This will help carry the meds to all the hard to reach places. Don't over do it but find a way the make it happen these next 4 weeks.
Pulling for your SVR

Penelope: Those are very low numbers. Excellant. You are on the home stretch now. Get ready to hurl Mr. Riba off that train! Have a happy week-end fellow warrior.

Thanks Gg, Lilbit and Bubble,
I know I was an unbeliever, but 'undetected' has turned me around.
9/14 labs: ALT 15 and AST 18.
Prior to tx they were both 28, and 1 week into tx had dropped to 13 and 16. They seem to bounce around a little with each draw. No worries here though- I'm a happy camper!
I'm looking forward to actually getting those kayaks wet next year if Paul's results go as well as mine. He's on the 24 week program. We just haven't had the energy to paddle this year, much less the strength to lift them to the top of the car.

Really Glad 3P !!!! You see now what has happened ? You will be fine. And heading into the final four weeks will go fast! No need to worry. What is your AST and ALT scores? These are very importent to watch as the inflamation drops, your liver stops this production. The Dragon is on the run Penny. Peace.

Thanks Tig, Dolphin and Mike. I know I've still got a way to go, but this news is like a spoonful of sugar - it helps the medicine go down!
Dolphin - I think you made a wise choice in taking what you were able to get approved for now, rather than waiting until next year. Welcome to the Viekira train!

Oh Penny, big congrats to you!
That is very good news, I`m very happy for you! I can understand your reluctance to open the file, I think most people would be the same.
What a boost to you knowing the Vik Pak treatment is working so well... onwards and upwards!

I didn't think I'd get my lab results until I saw my doc tomorrow, but the lab posted them last night. I was afraid to open the file, but of course I got over that bit of silliness in about a minute....NOT DETECTED!
So the first hurdle has been passed! Thanks to God, and to you all for your encouragement.
