If you are taking truvada and start harvoni be careful. I started my harvoni treatment 4/2/15. I did not reach undetectable status until between weeks 8-10. Around week 13 I started having activity intolerance. I would get tachycardic, light headed, and short of breath with about 15 minutes of light yard work. I would sit down and feel better in about 15 minutes. This slowly progressed over the next 6-8 weeks with more and more symptoms that lasted longer and longer with less and less activity. I was very short of breath, extremely fatigued, bradycardia, numb/tingly arms, chest pain, nausea, malaise, and light headed. It would last for 4-5 hours. The harvoni was reacting with my truvada and caused moderate renal failure. My doc believes I was not clearing the drug from my system fast enough and it was building up. I ended up on a 3 week med holiday. All meds stopped including my HIV meds. Every day the symptoms decreased and my renal function slowly returned to normal. I started my HIV meds two weeks ago and have started with moderate renal failure again. I will be checked in two weeks and may have to go off truvada all together. My hcv treatment was horrible starting at week 13. Just watch it if you take truvada for your HIV and harvoni.
