I would like to make a request of the membership. It seems that in light of today's new technology, we're experiencing some problems with picture formats and the lengthier website addresses (URL's). Whenever an attachment, such as a picture or image is added to your post, if it is a large file or a high resolution picture (depending on your camera setting or the copied image), you may notice the results are all but optimum. The post suddenly becomes too small to read and extends beyond the limits of your browser page. This is the formatting problem we're starting to see more of. If you happen to use a mobile device to view the forum, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Sometimes the picture is too big to even see on the page. I'd like to ask you to keep this in mind when posting this kind of information. Those of you that have added photos or attachments to your posts may remember seeing the following notice at the bottom of your new post:

For future information, when/if you post a document, such as your lab results, a photo or an image that you would like to share and are concerned that it may be too large a file, simply do nothing more than attach the file. There is no need to click on the "Insert" text. The photo or image will still post but will post as an ICON at the bottom of your message. I'm sure you're all familiar with what I'm saying. I will leave an example at the bottom of this message for those that haven't used this function before. When done in this manner, the person wishing to view your document or photo, only has to click on the ICON to view it. This leaves the existing page format original and easy to read for everyone, regardless of device. We may need to edit the size of future attachments if this happens.
The other item I'd like to mention regards the addition of webpage (URL) links to your posts. If they are formatted too long, they can cause the same problem with the page view. There is a text editor in your profile settings that will allow you shorten any URL added, but for many this can be confusing. If you do add a link to your message that ends up to be excessively long and changes the page format, the admin team will attempt to shorten or abbreviate your link for you. If we're unable to do that, we will leave it in it's orginal format so we don't alter your original post. Just know if you see that we have shortened a URL link in a post, it's for that reason only.
