Well I am on week 18 and I have side effects for sure. I find exercise and water are my two best friends. Some days I just drag my butt around and get through it though... Keep your head up! Better days ahead with time and healing taking place.

I feel just like you do and I haven't been on treatment yet. It scares the hell out of me. Hope your doctor's apt goes good. I have mine on wed.

Hi Ww, so sorry you`re having such a rough time, although one thing`s for sure... you`re not dying, so please don`t even let that thought even enter your head!
I can fully understand your frustration, but I wonder if you`re expecting too much of yourself at this point? Don`t forget that you were on some very powerful medications and there`s no set time for recovery, it`s different for everyone. It`s still early days for you yet, so do what you can when you can, and try to stay positive about each day.
As Tig mentioned, we`re hearing about quite a few post tx issues from other members who have taken Harvoni, you`re not alone in this.
I`m glad you`re seeing your doctor today, and exploring ways to alleviate symptoms through diet and physical therapies, all those are good approaches.
I remember when you first joined us, and I think you did so well getting through your treatment despite a difficult start. You`re obviously very strong minded and I`m sure you`re quite capable of staying away from alcohol, you know the right path to take.
Take good care of yourself, and let us know how you get on with the doctor. I`m so glad you shared your worries with us, we`re here for you any time!

Hey K
Sorry to read about your current maladies, having also been on Harvoni for 24 weeks I can relate to the slow recovery syndrome. I am still trying to make sense of how to think and approach recovery. With the list of variables per patient, Harvoni is one of the common denominators and the other is now not having HEP-C .
Katrina, what I have concluded so far about the recovery period is, pace of activities and sleeping long and well. Your liver is in a recovery period so don't push its limits, rest, pace, diet, fresh air and meditation are your friend during this time.
Hope you find your balance.

Thanks guys, it means a lot to me to hear you feedback and encouragement. Truly it does There are things that actually aggravate my symptoms. I picked up a nasty habit of drinking espresso during my Tx. It helped a lot with the fatigue. Now though it seems that it kicks in the pain and numbness in my feet. I have had minimal adverse sensations in my hands, but mostly my feet. My stomach is crampy with gas a lot. I stopped eating meat to help with that and my belly has improved. My face has acne that I never had before. My muscles are hard to maintain. I am on my way to see the doctor today. I don't know if anyone recalls my reluctance to ingesting any kind of medication. I never feel ok with any medications. I was recently prescribed a muscle relaxer for my back but I took two and stopped. I am going to massage again, chiropractor and physical therapy. I wish I could find more natural ways to relieve what I am experiencing. I am going to try Chinese foot therapy and acupuncture. I'll definitely let you know how that goes.

Hi K
I wasn't on the same tx as you but this is how it went post tx for me. While on tx we have something to look up to being hep c free. Right after tx I felt great no more pills, shots and no hepc. By the time I went for my eot+12 weeks I was a little worried, all turned out well. Some where between the post 12 and 24 week test it all became water over the dam battle was over. I realized I didn't feel 20 years younger, things were getting back in place. 1 year post tx I feel good but I feel like I should for a 62 yr old. (well a little better than most 62yr olds). Give it time things will come back in place. What difference I can see is maybe living 10 more years than I would have if I still had hep c. On that note may I add DON"T GIVE IN TO THE DRINKING!!!!!!!!!

Hi Katrina,
I'm sorry to hear you're having a miserable time with your recovery process. What has your doctor told you and have you had any additional tests to rule out other possibilities? You're right though, we have several others that are complaining of lingering joint and muscle pain. Some are mentioning trouble and discomfort in their hands. How about you? If you haven't discussed possible solutions with your healthcare team, you really need to push yourself to do that. I know that it's hard to get motivated when you feel like garbage, but try hard to stay moving. This time of the year isn't the most pleasant of weather, but the fresh air and sunshine, albeit limited, is very helpful.
Keep away from the booze! You're doing well with that and you don't need to deal with additional problems right now. I hope you stick with us here and keep telling us how you're feeling. I hope that some others that have taken Harvoni will check in here and share their experiences with recovery and what they did to minimize these problems. I know you're not alone, so I hope you find some relief knowing others share your pain. We do have plenty of folks that are witnessing good improvements, but it is taking them longer than they thought it would. Hang in there and keep in touch, I want to hear from you.

Thank you William. I have spent the entire day in bed. As I lay there I think that I cannot be the only one experiencing this. It is scary having my body feeling all this and I have no control. I am remaining stron with my sobriety. I took a dive right after tx. I would binge drink frequently. A very unusual thing for me. I'm not drinking alcohol at all now. I think about it it to relieve the pain. I know that is the worst choice though...

It has been several weeks since I posted last. I reached SVR 12 in my last post. I have really good days and then out of nowhere I feel horrible. My blood pressure seems to be on the low side. My feet burn and feel numb sometimes. I sprained both my ankles and threw my back out. I'm in worse shape than ever. I'm only 43 but I feel 83 at times. I take full advantage of the times I feel good. I walked 40 miles in one week after a long rest after the sprains. I might have over done it because that following week I threw my back out. I thought I was recovered enough to get back to my normal activity. My face is atrocious! I have constant horrendous boils on my face! It's quite scary. I feel like I have agreed to my death by accepting this treatment. I never felt this way previous to treatment. Am I actually dying or what?
