Welcome and yay- to you for starting your treatment.
I found the side effects from tx to be varied enough that the treatment time is passing quickly.
I am almost finished 10 weeks.
Best,
Alison

Hi Vanessa.
I'm glad you got started on treatment and nothing catastrophic has happened as as result, YET! j/k
I hope your treatment goes perfectly but if not, whine away. I have and I haven't been kicked out of here, yet. Gee, since I'm coming up with a lot of 'yets' for you, here's another - You haven't achieved SVR 'yet', but you will. Just stay compliant with your meds and treat your body with care. I'm glad you are here. Keep us posted on your progress.

WHAT??? No foaming at the mouth?? That's half the fun, lol!! Glad to hear your first round went well, good luck...
Thanks, Tig. I appreciate the warm welcome. Reading here most every day for the last year has given me the courage to jump in the pond. I am a very private person and don't like discussing my health .. HCV or otherwise, so only my medical folks and husband know. I know I can count on everyone here for support and won't hesitate to pester one and all.
And in case anyone cares... I am no different from all others - swallowed my meds this a.m. and POOF..nothing. No falling in the floor, foaming at the mouth, brain matter draining out my ears.... * LOL
Now I know I can handle anything. (said with a shaky voice and my tiny fist at the ready)... Remind me if I forget...teehee.

Hi Vanessa,
I'm glad you're getting this opportunity to kill the beast! 12 weeks of Sovaldi and Riba will put the whammy on the old Dragon. The rates of success are very good and the time should go by pretty quick. May not seem that way some days, but it'll be done before you know it.
Stay compliant, stay rested and make sure you eat well and drink plenty of fluids. Adequate hydration, 3-4 liters of water per day, minimum. Proper hydration often is enough to ward off the worst of the side effects. Headaches and fatigue seem to be most noticeable. So drink!!
You're always welcome here on the forum and we welcome your emotion. We have no whiners, just people we consider a friend, that needs someone to talk to. So bring it on! You can also send your husband over for a chat if he needs to talk. Good luck V, we're here for you both!

Hi Vanessa,
Welcome to the party! This forum is a great place to get knowledge and support. When you whine and grip here, you're actually discussing the ups and downs of treatment.

Well, I've been hanging out in the shadows, but my day to embark on this journey begins tomorrow. Sovaldi and Riba just arrived. As it has surely been said a million times I am anxious to start in both a good and worried way.
But it's been a long time coming. My heart begged to wait on the new the new pangenotype med from Gilead coming maybe early 2016, but my new GI urged me to treat now because who knows. He's my 3th doctor - seems to be my charm. Actually his NP has worked harder against the insurance denials for 6 weeks. Staying in touch and promptly returns my calls. We were both surprised when last week they said OKAY. I may have a new job opportunity coming in a few months. So here I am, determined to fight the virus and not the treatment (my previous mindset of resisting the ribavirin, sure I'd become something like what my cat barfs up.)
BUT may I retain the right to come here to whine and grip on occasion??? . Giving my dear husband a break???
