Welcome to the forum you have found a good place. Good to hear that you are still maintaining good health after all those years with Hep-C. Hopefully you will address it soon as the cumulative effect of many years will certainly be a issue for your health.
There are some great ABBVIE clinical drug trials right now in Canada if money is a big problem, one of our newer members recently enroll in one.

Thanks Wendy. I will look into changing from milk thistle and also for some kind of financial aid. I hope all goes well for you.

welcome mikenan,
I'm in bc and was able to get the costs covered by 'fairpharmacare' with a co-pay from the company. I believe some other provinces will cover it or most of The costs if you fit their criteria. In BC I believe mīnimum is F-2.
I had a fibrescan and an ultra scan done to confirm my eligibility.
I'm almost done treatment and although it's been a bit awful, it's worth it, the virus was Undetected in my blood after 4 weeks.

welcome Mikenan!
I too have progressed very slowly but wanted to be rid of it once and for all. Prior to treatment, I took milk thistle for years but after research switched from milk thistle to bupleurum. You may want to look into that. There are different links on the site about financial aid, programs etc like support path. I got approved through my insurance and also was stage 1. Look around here and see what options you may have for financial aid with the treatments,
Al best!

Welcome Mikenan,
Fellow Canuck here. This is a warm and friendly site and I'm glad you found it.
Obviously the best advice I can give is to have this nasty taken care of. You have had it hanging over your head for 13 years. What does your Doctor say about getting treatment and health care to cover the cost?
I'm sure others here who are more knowledgeable about the financial side of things will reply but thanks for posting, it's a great idea to reach out with your questions and concerns.

Hi I am new to his forum. I was diagnosed with Geno 2 in 2002. I do my yearly blood tests and so far all have been normal. I did have a biopsy in 2007 and showed stage 1. I probably contracted Hep c in 1970 so it is progressing very slowly. I am looking at the new pill option but the cost is extremely high. I have been taking milk thistle and alpha lipoic acid along with a multi vitamin. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
