The pounding heart has decreased to occasionally and only for a short time. Cough has increased to making my throat a bit sore.
Thanks for asking - have a wonderful day.

How's it feeling justvlm? Ive had crazy pounding off and on for 15 weeks. Seems like it's fairly common. there are thoughts it could be related to the nervous system. HCV can effect the nervous system and the meds may add further stress. Many seem to settle down later in treatment.

Thanks Greg and Alison. I will let my doctor know, but no pounding heart last night. A bit od heart burn and itchy skin.... Actually more like my skin was stinging here then there. Luckily I have put in lots of time on support forum so I'm aware of the revolving sx. Like a box of chocolates??? Well, chocolate was my first though LOL. Congrats on just NINE more days. I can't wait to say that.

I certainly had a couple of frightening nights with heart pounding and a weird cough about a third of my way through treatment (including riba )
the heart pounding left after three or four nights, the short breath and weird cough have not.
Trying to figure out the ever changing side effects of tx has made it an.....interesting ride, never dull.
9 days left for me. I never want to see another ribiviron pill again.
Best,
Alison

Hi JV,
It's hard to get a sense of what is going on but if it were me, I'd be seeing the doctor about this right away. Just my humble opinion. Certainly do not want to panic you but better to be safe right?

Thanks, Tig. I know these are strong meds and feel it's just a new adjustment. I appreciate the hand holding from you and Mike . If it was or gets too worrisome, dear hovering husband will whisk me off to urgent care ( whether I want to or not)

Hi JV,
You're not alone in this experience. We have had others here mention it was bothersome, but nothing serious that I recall. You should let your doctor know and they may want to take a listen and an EKG to see what, if anything, is going on. It does seem that it can occur, but likely just a reaction to treatment versus a problem. But do get that determined before assuming anything. Here's a link to a different group discussion. You'll see you're not the only one feeling this way.
Hi Mike. I'm not on any heart meds and never had any problems, other the anxiety thing last year. I don't have any appointments, but will call tomorrow. It's odd that lve had this wake me. Today I am a little out of breath, so maybe it's the riba .

Are you taking any heart medications? There are some heart related warnings for Sovaldi but these are related to drug interactions with heart medications. Do you mean that you are seeing the doctor for this next week?.

Hello all. It's been my first week of sovaldi / riba. Nothing major except the last few nights I wake with my heart pounding. Doesn't seem racing, just so hard I feel it almost shaking my body. 2 times lasted about an hour. Last night almoe 2.5 I had this happen last year and my Dr said heart sounded good and likely an anxiety attack ( had some stressful days at work).
Anyway, I'll report this next week, but wondering if anyone else had this wake them up?
Thanks
