Thanks for the welcome. Took my first pill last night at 7 have crazy work schedule and decided this was the best time. Other than not sleeping very well (could have been anticipation from the old interferon days) no side effects at all. I know it's early on but just wanted to share my experience. I did drink plenty of water like suggested..

Welcome Ross,
I too went through the same past treatments you did with no luck. Just took my final Harvoni last week. So far undetected (go back to doc Weds). So my hope is you have the same results. Great bunch of folks here, lots of support and mega knowledge.
Happy Holidays,
wendy

Hi Ross,
Having been a previous non-responder and relapsing on S/O, the Harvoni did it for me. Should do it for you as well. SVR is in your future :) Congrats on getting started.

Hey Ross,
Welcome! I agree that the third time will be the one for you. The Harvoni protocol will be much easier than the old Interferon routines and the rates of success don't come close. Just stay compliant and as Mike mentioned, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Nothing will help reduce or eliminate the potential side effects better than plenty of water, rest and a good diet. Stay mobile and get some exercise as well. Doesn't have to be strenuous, just keep active.
Congrats on getting started and doubly so for getting the payment assistance from Gilead! It's all working out and I'm looking forward to all the good news you'll be sharing along the way! Let us know what your doc says today and good luck!

Hello Ross.
I'm glad you got approved for Harvoni. This should prove to be easier to tolerate with a much better result than the interferon and ribavirin. Although side effects for Harvoni are minimal for most it is in your best interest to stay adequately hydrated throughout treatment. You have found an excellent source for information and support here. I'd like to welcome you to the group and there will be other members along to welcome you as well. Good luck and I'm betting 3rd time will indeed be a charm for you. Let us know how it goes with your doctors visit today.

Hi all first time post. Start Harvoni today for the 12 week haul. First diagnosed 1992 and tried the interferon 3 mg 3x a week non responder then was put in a trial 5 mg 3x a week plus 1200 mg of ribavirin non responder. I have had two biopsies one back in 1992 and the other 2006 minimal damage. After seeing commercials on tv about hepatitis C I started looking into it and came across Harvoni. Made an appointment with my old gastroenterologist and we started the Harvoni quest. Had all my bloodwork done with a Fibrosure test that stated F3 and viral load was low for me around 210,000 use to be in the millions. My insurance finally approved it and Gilead okayed the $5 copay and my Harvoni was delivered Friday. I have doctor's appointment at noon today and will start sometime after that. I just hope the third time is the charm.
