Thanks for encouragement. Interesting that it is the Ribavirin that causes the most post treatment issues.
Specialist seems to think that treatment is all over now, she is keen for me to have a small growth in my liver removed under general anaesthetic asap as my stats are looking so good. I've asked her to slow down a bit so I can recover from one treatment before heading into another! Lucky for me she has agreed.

Agreed, it's the Ribavirin. Horrid stuff, but so effective... I remember it well. Just take it easy and let some time go by. That's the best cure for the post treatment side effects. It'll happen, but takes longer than we want it to, that's for sure! Keep hydrating and eating right. This too shall pass...

Your tiredness is due to the ribavirin and it will take time for the riba to get worked out of your system. It took about 6 months for me to feel energetic again. You will however start feeling somewhat better soon after treatment and it will get better as time passes. Hang in there Ari. You are past the rough part. It's onward to SVR now.

Hi - I finished Viekira Pak with Ribavirin 8 days ago after 24 weeks. The last 3 weeks on treatment were difficult, I had water retention, sleeping only 4 hrs a night, heart beating like having an endless panic attack, high blood pressure, totally hyped up, exhausted and generally miserable.
A couple of days off the medication and most symptoms settled down which is a huge relief. Saw my specialist yesterday - at 24 weeks no virus detected, liver stats only slightly raised (consistent with a cirrhotic liver), everything else within normal range. Specialist and I are very happy with the results. I now have prescription for a diuretic and have been referred to check heart out.
However I am very tired all the time. Has anyone else felt tired after treatment? If so, how long did it last?
I will say that being tired is infinitely better to how I felt in the last weeks of treatment!
