We have examples of people being detected even at the end of treatment that go on to SVR12. These new DAA's work differently than the treatments of days past. We used to place all of our belief in treatment success in those early results, it doesn't work that way anymore. Sure, some go undetected early, but there are just as many that don't. It takes some getting used to, but the EOT +12 viral load is the one that counts!
Your viral load displays a multi log drop in quantification from start to your last test. Those results show me that you are responding very well to treatment!
Here is a link to some information on our abbreviations. We tend to use them a lot.
Thank you so much for your reply and a sense of hope!
have you ever heard any stories of people still very detected at 6 weeks on a 12 week Harvoni program that went on to reach svr ? (svr; I think that means cure, right?)
My japanese is not nearly good enough to ask these types of questions to my doctor. I'm sorry to be persistent

Hi Bull,
Your Lab is obviously using Log. Units. 2.5 is equal to 316 ME/ml, which is a big drop from your starting VL.
Although most patients are Undetected by week 4, some are not. Just cross your fingers and keep going. All will be well. Cheers.

Hello. I created my account here for this question. Thank you all for creating this good community.
I live in Japan so I have trouble communicating with my doctor using my Japanese. But I was able to land a 12 week Harvoni plan.
Problem is: at 6 weeks, my viral load is 2.5
i don't know what that means. This measurement system doesn't seem to match what you all discuss. I started at 6.8,..... Whatever that is...
at 2 weeks I was 3.8
at four weeks I was 3.1
now 2.5
this means I can't cure, right? My doctor told me he thinks I won't. I'm so disappointed.
Type 1a
pos for almost 15 Years
good liver condition
never missed a dose
first time treatment
thank you all!!
