Hi again Stormy, I`m so glad you got your courage up to start your Harvoni tx, you have plenty of support here and you`ll be in good company on your journey. You`ve taken the first step to better health and an hcv free life, well done!
Wendy mentioning the use of ginger for nausea or settling the stomach reminded me of Tig`s recipe for homemade ginger ale, you can find it in this thread...Homemade ginger ale
Best of luck, keep us updated...

Stormy,
there are many of us that use ginger in some form or other for our stomach. I take a capsule and drink ginger tea, others juice it. Check that out for the tummy

Hi Stormy.
Congrats on getting started on treatment. You are now an official dragon fighting warrior. Based on my experience and that of others here too your initial side effects should clear up quickly. In the mean time according to this site Kaopectate is okay to take but I'd sure to ask my doctor or pharmacist 1st to be sure. I hope you feel better real quick. Keep us posted.

Hiya Stormy,
Glad to hear the good news, today was day two for me, not Harvoni but Sovaldi/ Riba.
Been drinking LOTS of water, I'm keeping track and set a goal at (8) 8oz glasses minimum per day ... been drinking a little more than that just to be sure. If you can, try to get a little exercise too, helps me sleep better.
All the best to ya, you've got this.
Wishin' ya well,
Dave

Well Folks I braved up and took my first pill 3 days today. 1. St day I thought omg if I'm going to feel like this for 3 months I'll never make it. Didn't sleep till 5 am that first night which didn't help, next day has not been as bad. Pressure in head eased up have a bit of a headache which is to be expected. Too many trips to the bathroom is my worst complaint today. So misery tale about a 7 out of 10. Things are looking up. Can anyone tell me if you were allowed to use Kaopectate to slow down the bathroom trips. i know we are sworn off antacids as it neutralizes the Harvoni and Kaopectate is kind of like a coating for your innards so I'm thinking they'd say no to that Too. Don't want to jeopardize the Harvoni I'm not ready to go dancing yet but at least today I can watch it on tv. I read so many reports that had no side effects I thought I might be the same. Hoping what I do have eases up a little More soon. but the biggest celebration today is Hey, I started the Harvoni and the War on the Hep C Virus has had its first wave of artillery attacking it. Bam Pow Zap!
Thank you for your encouraging words giving me strength and courage To Start.
