Muscle Strength! I have to work hard, lift and pull and walk. For years, I have had low energy (friends note my "lethargy.") More importantly, a 25 lb feed bag was a heavy, heavy object. My muscle tone was soft and flabby even when I am working very hard. I don't get fit, I get tired.
Now the only side effect I have is Muscles. I am still sitting around as I have insomnia. However, yesterday I picked up a 25 lb feed bag and tossed it around like it was a loaf of Wonder Bread. Light as a Feather.
I am starting to look toned without exercise, Amazing.
The Bun/Creatinine ratio was whacked, not completely out but edging the line. I wonder if that was muscle wasting or why the muscle is coming back. Or do I care. Nice Side Effect of Dragon Drugs!
I am only borderline Fibrosis 2/3. This disease seriously affects our lives, even when it is early stage.

Wishing you the best with your Harvoni and yes, Ice Cream is GREAT food.
I concur that the LTF numbers look nice.
Keep us posted.

Thanks Tig
I am on the economy plan so I see the Dr after the 8 week test. I can contact him but I will wait for the 8 week results. You are probably correct there will be fluctuations in numbers due to the liver adjusting to winning the battle with the Dragon. It has been a heck of a fight for the last 50 years.
If the AST/ALT is still upside down, I will ask the Dr. next we meet after the next test.
I was glad to find out the < quantitative was a good result for 4 weeks.
I did have very mild brain fog at first. I was not eating any sugar but when I read your post elsewhere about ice cream, I bought a big tub. The brain fog cleared up. Can't say whether it was because I was adjusting to the drugs or because of the sugar rush but ice cream is good food!
No other symptoms except I am tired and sometimes can't fall asleep until the wee hours. But, it is an election year and I can entertain myself all night reading all the silly season nonsense. I am very politically informed. There is always a silver lining, aye?

I wouldn't be concerned at this stage of treatment. There's nothing wrong that I can see. You're going to see these fluctuations in your LFT's throughout treatment. The fact that you're below the quantification level and both AST/ALT are within normal limits, tells me you don't have anything to worry about. When those numbers are elevated beyond the ULN, then why that's occurring needs to be determined. Congrats on the excellent progress!

Thanks Midnight The results are good for the detected.
The AST 20 ALT 9 is ratio of 2.2. I only found one other post on another forum where a person on Harvoni was upside down AST/ALT during and after treatment.
Perhaps someone else knows if that is unusual. It may be an anomaly that will resolve by the next test.

I would be over the moon with your results and the Harvoni definitely seems to be working for you!
Your viral load is below the usual detection rate and your current liver inflammation score ALT is very low. Your liver must be very thankful for the rest!
I'm not sure about the balance between the AST and ALT but I would imagine that its just a process of adjustment to the new meds and will settle to the usual expected balance shortly.
You're looking good at 4 weeks, my results at that stage were ALT 41 and Viral load 20.
Best wishes

This was after the first 4 weeks on Harvoni. There are many results, all normal but I don't understand this one. Is there any other result that would show if the Harvoni is working?
Hepatitis C Quantitation: <15 IU/mL
Also, the ALT was 127 AST 115 NOW the AST is 20 ALT 9 I am glad it has come down but now it is upside down. Is that good or bad or nothing to worry about?
