Hi Yvonne. Welcome from me as well. We have several other Aussie members here too. It's great you are treating with Harvoni. I just finished 24 weeks and had very little issues with any side effects. You should do fine too. It's great to hear you are HCC free and once you have achieved SVR after treatment the chances of having to deal with that again are reduced. I assume you are cirrhotic? Your platelets should increase. Mine went from 50-74 during Tx and I expect that number to keep increasing. This forum is a valuable resource for you and we hope you continue to be a part of it. For more prompt and accurate reply's to your future post it would help if you create a signature like you see at the bottom of other members post. More information on that can be found HERE as well as a link to definitions for the abbreviations you'll be seeing in post and signatures. It is very important for you to stay adequately hydrated while taking Harvoni. Be sure to drink 3-4 liters of good water daily. And a healthy diet, light exercise a minimum, and getting plenty of rest is very helpful too.
Wishing you well on your journey aboard the Harvoni Train. Keep us up to date on how you are doing.

Hi and welcome Yvonne.
If you had HCC and have platelets of only 53k, I'd guess you are cirrhotic.
Harvoni is an excellent drug combo for Geno 1b, and we are lucky to have access in Australia.
Are you doing 12 or 24 weeks? Best of luck. Keep us informed of your progress. Cheers.

My name is Yvonne and today is my 4th day on Harvoni. Hep C Geno 1b. I am hoping to not get cancer again ( liver cancer treatment march last year), get rid of low playelets(53), hypoglycemic episodes, digestion probs, brain fog and for once in 30 yrs have some energy. I haven't had pancreatitis and AF since cancer treatment and really look forward to success with Harvoni :)
