Hi Iris, It is wonderful to hear you are going to see a hepatologist. There are so many people here, who can assist you and answer any questions that you may have. There are many foundations that will help you with your co-pays on the treatment, too. They also help with your co-pays (doctor) and transportation. Best of luck~

Hello again Iris!
This sounds like great news and a very positive step forwards. Please don`t apologise for complaining... you`re not... you`re just very anxious to get the Dragon off your back, just like everyone else here! Treatment options have improved by leaps and bounds while you`ve been waiting, and I wish you the best of luck!
Looking forward to hearing how you get on!!

Hi IRIS. What good news. You have been waiting a very long time. I'm glad your getting in front of a Doctor! Will you be in a clinical trial? Like Tig said, treatment options today are so good and all have good SVR results. If you get into a trial, please post the trial number, I enjoy looking at the trials our members are on. I wish you all the luck in the world!! RC

Hi Iris,
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! You've waited a very long time to get this done, and I want to believe the reason is timing. The time is right and it's meant to be! I know you'll be prepared and we'll all be waiting to hear the news once you get it. Everything available now and in trials has been so effective. This is a much better time to treat than even a couple years ago. Good luck is yours...

Hi Iris,
We stand with you and an appointment with your Hep doctor is a very positive step forward.
As Jimmy has mentioned, there are options, pursue your current course until/ unless you need to alter it to get to where you are going.
You WILL get there
Dave

It will happen. No Maybe.

Hi folks,
Welp I offically have an appt. With a hepatologist (spell?)
I had all but given up, my primary care person referred me to this place but I called and left messages 5 different times in about 3 or 4 different weeks at different times of the day ...always the answer machine. So I had complained to my primary, who also tried to contact them, with no luck. The next nearest place is "over the hill" (a knarly drive at any time of the day or night, and since my premium and co- pay went nearly double this year, now driving extended miles and paying to park are not really in the budget)
I was attempting to organize the puonds of paperwork from the insurance and referrals when this letter sending me to the Hep Dr. sifted to the top. I decided to call again, all the while wondering what kind of a Dr. doesn't return their calls. I about fell over when a live person answered. So...long story short, I see this guy at the end of the month. Considering all my appts. at USC and UCLA I'm not going to hold my breath or get excited or anxious just yet.
Please wish me luck! I know I complain a lot, just trying to do the best I can with what I got. Thanks Iris
