Congrats on your progress K8. I haven't heard of anyone switching from Sov/Riba to Sov/Dak as you mentioned as a possibility in another thread but I'm sure your doctor has a reason why that would be an acceptable strategy. But for myself, based on my own experience, I would have questions about shortening my treatment duration to 8 weeks with Sov/Riba. I know 2b is easier to cure than 1a, non-cirrhotics easier than cirrhotics and HIV- easier than HIV+, but the red letters in my signature makes me think maybe your original 3 month plan is a better idea. Hey K8,
Sorry I have not said hello until now, but I saw you arrive right away. A belated warm welcome from me to you.
What wonderful news, you being und at 4 weeks!
And how impressed I am at how well you are coping with the sof/riba, I would not have been suprized to hear it was harder than it sounds for you.
Perhaps you are just a very strongly positive person which helps you through this.
BTW - the whining dept. is in no special spot - you can do that, just about anywhere on this site, should you need to unload some.
Nice you have beings (hubby/dogs/cats) around you to be of some help or comfort to you through this, and of course we are all here too, to help and comfort as we can to each other.
Toeman (my pet name for him), most call him RC, or rightly (robertsamx), is kindly fretting for you, hoping you will get 12 weeks of sof/rib versus 8 weeks - everyone here and your docs want you to win this 100% this time - when did the doc(s) suggest to you that the course might only be 8 weeks - was that when your und 4 week VL was known, or, was this option (to go go with a shorter 8 week course) discussed as a possibility prior to starting treatment?? What are your thoughts on the matter of "course length", and do you have any say in the docs decision to lengthen or shorten the course? Just wondering. Did I miss posts about how your RBC's/platelets are doing, what your alt/ast are? Just wondering. We are all VERY happy you are winning!! C.

Congrats K8. Great news.
And Jimmy, now you explain it with a few words squeezed between the numbers, I get it.
Love your meticulous counts and the thought of you both sailing off into the sunset for a while at the end of it.

Okay, time to share good news - just as I was thinking bad things about my doctor (he doesn't care that I am weary and tired, he said hang in there and take the RIBA, blah blah
Test results are in from 5/31 - undetectable - I wasn't hesitant to say anything to my loved one as I know the journey continues. I am celebrating now as the journey continues. I see the Doc who treated me in 2007 on June 18th.. Doc did mentioned before I started that there was a chance treatment could be only 2 months (RIBA/SOV but I am committed to whatever it takes.
think I actually gained a few lbs since I am hungry all the time (Grateful for this) and the longest walk I take with the dog is 5 blocks (with time to sit down) or perhaps it is the 96 to 100 oz of water I am drinking.
Added avocado to the green smoothie along with a couple of carrots, spinach, berries and apple AND lots of ginger. Grateful to be alive and grateful to have found the forum

Pis it good news? Of course it pis. LOL
I was given a treatment plan of 168 days which began on 05/15/16 and therefore will end on 09/29/16 followed by a declaration of SVR 12 on 12/22/16 which is just in time for the Rooster hanging, when the whole thing which began 55 days ago, leaving 113 to go or 67% of the total treatment plan of which I have completed 33% of as of today which clearly means I have 29 pills remaining on hand, and will be doing another blood draw this Friday 06/10/16 but none of that really matters and who's counting anyway because in 144 days Carol and I are boarding our cruise.
"Cryptic"? Oh come on now that was easy.

Jimmy, you have to make your numbers a lot less cryptic when your audience includes 2 brain celled, non mathematical half wits.
