Over the years I spent many a week at The Carlton there on the beach right next to the Hilton. Made some 40 trips in 10 years. Beautiful Country.

Hi katya,
Welcome to the forum. I am also a G3, and failed old treatment Riba/Interferon due to riba intolerance. I never experienced the skin problems, but I did have anemia which became too much. I am now on the new DDA combo Sofosbuvir and Daklizina. It works a treat and only for about 11 days I had mild flu like sides. I am also a small woman and normally sensitive to medications. I can honestly say I am sailing through it and I have no doubts you will too. Doctors don't take these medications so they don't really know other than patient feedback. Mine had a good batch of Ok and not Ok on Riba, so it is really individual on these medications. On the new DDA's she's had not one single patient with problems for geno 3 without riba. Welcome aboard the treatment train. :D

Doctors tend to take the studies and that is it. We have the real life experience and pass them on to the friends.
Water on these drugs is 3 to 4 liters a day minimum.
All our best to you.

Greetings to all !
Thank you responded!
The doctor did not tell me about that during therapy need to avoid the sun..
Only when I started reading forums I find out reviews of people and their reaction to the sun.
Before therapy I asked the doctor " What side effects can I expect?"
Her answer was "no"
Also read this forum I see that many people were not prepared for this side effect.
I do not understand why doctors do not warn us about these terrible side effects.
I read annotation about ribavirin but there was a list of which can be a standard to many drugs.
Why the doctor don't advised me not to drink plenty of water?
I lucky i like to drink a lot and I drink a lot of water in generaly)
By the way -how much water should you drink a day?
My height 5.5 and I weigh 121
Thanks to all forum users have a very good mood at me I feel better)
Only because of your beautiful Avatar and the fact you mentioned swimming, I would like to mention in passing, Ribavirin plus Direct Sunshine do not mix.
Exposing your skin to direct sunlight while on Ribavirin can lead to some of the problems you are speaking about.
Again I am only mentioning this because you may not be aware.
Regards

Welcome Katya to the forum. This is a great place to ask questions about hepc treatments and side effects . The triple drug treatment you are on is correct for your geno type, and 60 mg dak should be correct. Being that you are a type 3, you should discuss with your doctor the possibility of just reducing your RIBA and then see how you do with a lower dose . Wishing you the best of luck!! RC

Hello Katya, welcome from me too!
Thanks for sharing your story with us, I`m very sorry you had such a difficult time with this treatment. It seems that you had a very bad reaction to the ribavirin. Some people just cannot tolerate this drug, you are not alone! We have had others on this forum who have had to stop their treatment because the side effects were too severe.
As others have said, it does take quite a while for the ribavirin to completely leave your body so do not despair, just be patient and you should start to feel much better soon.
From the results you have given us, you were responding very well to the treatment, even though you were given the wrong dose of Daklinza! And I`m sure that next time you will be able to clear the Hep C virus completely, but without the nasty side effects from ribavirin!
I`m glad you found us and I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks to my virtual friends! Touched to tears!
I will make a visit to the doctor and rewrite all my blood result.
All that I remember that after 3 weeks of treatment my viral load dropped from 3500000 13 if I am not mistaken and ALT and AST from -160 back to normal)
And it was however the doctor made a mistake-instead of prescribe me daklinza 60 mg. she is prescribe 30 mg
Everybody have a nice day !

Hello from Canada Katya,
We are glad you found this forum. You will get to interact with many who know what you are going through and be able to help by suggesting diets and such that have proven to be helpful to them in the past.
Getting onto a new protocol without Ribavirin I am certain will help your bad side effects so much based on many others who have taken that drug.
Please keep us posted and don't give up the good fight as the prize is waiting for you at the end of it.

Hello,
Since you were only on Ribavirin for about a month, you should start feeling better soon if that's what has caused all of your side effects. It can take several months to clear it from your system, but the less time you have been on it the better.
Can you click the red link in my signature line? That will help you fill out your signature and provide you some of the abbreviations used here. If you would add some information, such as lab tests, ALT and AST, Fibrosis and viral load results. Add your genotype 3 and your treatment program (Sov/Dac/Riba) to it too. That will help us respond to your posts better. You can see what many of us have done.
They can treat you without Ribavirin if necessary, but it depends on more information than you provided so far. Ribavirin can cause some miserable side effects, no doubt about that. Your doctors will be your guide. When will that decision be made? Let us know. Stay in touch.

Hi Katya,
Welcome to the forum!
You were on a very good protocol, but I'm sorry you had a reaction like that. Are you allergic to one of the drugs? The Ribavirin will cause many of the reactions you spoke of. Definitely will cause itching and skin problems.
You will be more comfortable on a different treatment without Ribavirin. There are a few great things available, I'm not sure if Israel has approved Epclua w/wo Vox yet. It should be soon if not already. Depending on your fibrosis stage, you may be able to reduce the length of treatment in half.
If you need help getting around, just let us know. The Search function is at the top, it will direct you to discussions we've had here. You can access anything using that menu bar.
I'm glad you're here!
