And why was I fearful? I bit the bullet-got the result I was hoping for.
Now it's 4 months later. I joined Weight Watchers in January. I lost 28 lbs so far. Harvoni was not the cause of my weight gain. My nachos and breads and potatoes and fast foods were.
I have a new grandgirl as of Feb 2017. Her Dad is envisioning Wonder Woman, and I say " what's wrong with rainbows and ponies and sunshine?". But I digress....

Well!, had we only known, all it took was some prompting with sharp dental tools to git ya going for that good news, we wouldn't have pushed you so gently to drive into that parking lot! hee hee. Was it as hard as pulling teeth? Obviously it was at least as easy as having a root canal! I am so glad you have that EOT+24 weeks under your belt now. No looking back. It all a forward motion now. Hello Tig and Canuck and any others that may just be reading through posts:
30 Weeks after EOT Still Undetected. I had an unexpected root canal Tuesday, Jan 10. I thought I was just going in for a consultation! When I left I thought, heck, I got past the root canal, I should be able to go to the lab for the blood test and did. Next day - they left message on my voicemail. Hi dear singsong,
Don't be in an uncomfortable state. Do it!. You'll feel better instantly (and then again!, when the und result returns to you). It will be a "double win", conquering that parking lot, and then again affirming that you killed the virus long ago .
You are now operating without the warmth of the harvoni security blanket, this will create another kind of blanket for you.
And us too, pushing you, do so with the softest comfort intended for you.
I'll wait right here until you post back that you are feeling the warmth wrap you again! C.

Now, you worked hard to get to this point, why are you avoiding the good news? Are you an eternal pessimist? I don't get that impression. You're absolutely right though, but you need to turn those numbers around. You have (according to ION study data and post Tx reports) a 94-100% chance, that's 9 1/2 people outa 10!! Come on! Get in there, you need to close this chapter and move forward. You'll be fine. You're feeling good, better than ever, and you admit to a healthy appetite. That sounds like living!
Next time you drive by the lab, turn in there. Park the car and take that next step. We'll be here to help you celebrate!!

I don't know why I'm fearful. That I'll be the 1 in 100?
I'm feeling much better though - feels like the good old days. I did put on 20 pounds since I was on Harvoni and I haven't really changed my diet all that much. While on Harvoni I developed a sweet tooth, but that went away after I quit the meds. I did start Weight Watchers and went to my first meeting today. Baby steps.

I agree with what Canuck said, please don`t feel guilty because you had such an easy ride on Harvoni, just be thankful that you were able to benefit from such an amazing advance in treatment! Having gone through the horrors of Peg/riba myself, I`m only too happy that people don`t have to suffer like that any more, and I`m sure that goes for everyone else here who went through it in years gone by.

It is VERY fitting, that for you, that you have ONLY the very smoothest of rides to your SVR EOT+12 VL result. You have been a model, for many, on how well you coped with having HCV, and dealing with life that HCV brings you. You welcomed treatment with wide open arms and a brave, positive attitude. It is not just the sides, or the worry, that comes with having HCV that is hard enough - people transform, and the transition is labourious. You did it very well (but, I highly suspect you have practised/honed this all your life! (That's a compliment-like 'n case ya didn't notice!). I am already feeling your big smile at EOT+12! Don't go getting all survivor guilt on us just cause you did not get sides, we know what work it can be to get here. You deserve this and a smooth ride. C.

I finished my 8 weeks of Harvoni on June 13 and tested UND at end of treatment. I take my SVR test after Labor Day. I was telling Gojuman (Mike) that taking Harvoni every day was like a security blanket. I had no side effects, whatsoever, so when my 8 weeks was up - I wished I had 12-just to keep on putting up the good fight. There's always that lurking fear until you get the UND after 12 weeks that maybe it was too easy. Maybe I should have suffered more. Had some side effects. I will report my results. Anna

Enjoy the freedom of regaining your health and we all celebrate with you. :D
Hi Anna,
that is such great news. Like you I am still waiting for the EOT 12. Theres the fear it may again have reared its ugly head, taking turns with a slight anti climax. I did RIBA but I still think, if I'm cleared, is that all it took to save my life?
So happy for you. I hope you're munching tasty canapés in a cocktail dress while you're in the holding foyer.

Great news Anna!
It's true, the side FX of Harvoni were so very tolerable for me as well. We are the lucky ones who did not have to go through the terrible times that so many did here.
I am thrilled you are UND at your EOT and looking forward to your SVR at 12 weeks past.
Take care
SF
Hi Anna,
Congrats on finishing your tx, and getting that wonderful EOT undetected result!
Thanks for your encouraging post and best of luck for SVR... we`ll be looking forward to hearing the good news!!
Terrific Anna, I envision you crossing the finish line!
Congratulations on being UND!
Thats simply fantastic news
Alison
Hi Anna,
I'm glad you're done and very happy to hear you didn't experience any side effects. WOW is all I can say! My money is on that undetected turning into a SVR12 right before the holiday season! How does that sound? Yeah baby, SVR!! Here it comes...
Thank you, Canuck!
You hit the nail on the head. Survivor guilt. Thinking of those who suffered through interferon and Riba for years and either were the lucky 50% or so that cleared it or the other group that got or gets another chance to clear it with the new wonder drugs.

Anna
