so good to hear how readily your body has responded to the new meds. That Viekera sounds like the ticket. Imagine how much better you're going to feel without carrying that chronic illness around after 6 months! Or 12!
its very exciting and great to know that something you have endured basically for your whole life, as you were only teeny when you got it, is going to be gone.
Take care,
Syd

Congratualtions, time goes pretty fast on these medications. I am on sof/dak and under 3 weeks left of 12 weeks. I won't know if I am UND until post 12 weeks, but my body tells me its also cured. Nothing like that fog lifting is there!!!
Dancing with you! :D

Joaquin,
Yes! We love to hear that the new treatments are tolerable. Echo Echo: keep drinking loads of water. That should help with headaches and any side effects.
Keep us posted on your progress. What a great day and age to start treatment.

Hi Joaquin,
Welcome to the forum! You're on a good protocol and being undetected already bodes well for your continued success. The first couple of weeks seems to be the adjustment period on these drugs and avoiding Ribavirin as a 1B is bound to make things a little easier. You have every reason to be pleased and to expect good days ahead.
Keep up a good program of diet and hydration. Before you know it, this will be nothing but a reason to smile!
If I can help, let me know. Good luck...

Welcomes to the Family here!
Great news on the UND. Sounds like you are doing fantastic!
Lots of water! 3 to 4 liters a day and six weeks to go to the finish line!

Hi there I am new to this post and wanted to share my experience with viekira pa so far. I am 44 years old, and have had the virus since I got a blood transfusion from my mother at the age of 6. I am now on week 6 (12 week treatment) of viekira pak, no cirrosis and mild scarring on my liver...genotype 1b.
I´m happy to say that today i got my blood test work back today and the virus is undetected in my blood!!!! so very happy to know this at the halfway point. In my personal experience there were very few and mild side effects, specially in the first two weeks there was lots of itching, and headaches, but then they all went away and I started to feel much better, much so that it felt that I had been living with a mental fog for most of my life and I feel i have much better mental clarity and energy than before...I recommend vikiera pak, it was easy to take and like i said before side effects were no big deal....time for the happy dance!!!!
