Morning Tig56, Cheddy, Malcolm, Canuck,Wendyo and JimmyK,
Thank you all for your good wishes, Tig will try that ginger recipe for sure mate cheers sound delicious.
Cheddy, I still can't take it in yet, but no-one is going to wipe this smile off my face.
Malcolm, Fibroscan was done as well, when I asked how much scarring, he said some but not at alot, will push this question again when I see him next time but he reassured me all was good with my liver as it is functioning normally. But will keep testing every 6 months. It is sad news about the shark attacks on our beaches, the water looks so nice and I love playing with the pacific ocean lol. My grand-daughter is not doing nippers this year ( Nippers = Surf Life saving for our non-ozzie friends) as we are quite worried as you can well understand.
Cancuk, It has been a long wait indeed, I went in expecting not to hear this news and just sat there dazed I guess, have a little brain fog with tx or is that just down to having a seniors moment. lol. Take care my friend.
Wendyo, such positive vibes coming from you. Glad your in my corner. Love and Light.
JJimmyK, I do feel blessed and very privileged to be able to access this amazing drug here in Oz. I am indeed very grateful and look forward to my virus free life ahead with my loved ones. When I had finished my last treatment I mentioned that I had found that I was able to cherish a single second, this is even more apparent now as my family and I look ahead. Bless you.
Love and Light to all, Greg

Hi Greg. Veryy happy for you and I know exactly what you mean about having to let UND at 4 weeks sink in some. Like you, I was not expecting to hear that when I did.
UND at 4 weeks means you will remain UND throughout treatment. Just keep up the hydration and it will be a fairly smooth ride. In that you are getting the full 24 weeks, SVR-12 is pretty much a formality down the road a piece.
My wife was borderline F4 and did 12 weeks. She is cured.
I was a prior DAA loser and assigned to 24 weeks of Harvoni. That ended up an Insurance disaster and I was cut off at 12 weeks. Won the appeal but 10 days no treatment had passed so I opted not to take the additional 12 weeks. That appears to have been a behind the scenes gift from God because the 12 weeks did it in my case as well. Cured. This was with known RAVs' at NS5A and NS3 and to top that off taking Omeprozol! Harvoni is in fact a fantastic plan against Hep-C.
You got this. The Dragon is gone and now you have an extremely effective guard standing post to see to it that it stays gone.
Happy Dragon Slaying to you!

Hi Everyone,
Reading Ruby's post this morning must have been a omen. Six weeks in and meet with my specialist this morning and week 4 blood results show "Undetected". Still hasn't sunk in yet but just amazed at these results. Liver is working as normal but have some scarring, he did not give me a range so can't post that I'm sorry say, but because of this I'll be doing the 24 weeks. So far only minimal sides, which include mild headache and nausea but drinking banana smoothies and ginger and apple tea takes care of that. What more can I say I really wasn't expecting to be undetected at this early stage. Just wanted to share this and hope everyone is well and smiling. Might have to put a coin in the jukebox.
Love and Light,
Greg

How fantastic, Greg, the day you`ve been waiting for has finally arrived!
Great to know you`re on your way to being Hep C free at last, and that pesky Dragon won`t stand a chance this time! You really do deserve this, and so does your liver!
Good luck with your ultrasound next week, but whether you end up doing 12 weeks or longer, your treatment journey will be like a gentle walk in the park compared to last time!
SVR here you come!!

Hi Greg,
so happy for you. Harvoni seems to be the magic bullet. my addled brain remembers someone admitting to strange dreams and maybe a bit of fatigue but for most people it seems to be the equivalent of a couple of panadol. It'll be a smooth ride - you sitting in the first carriage, legs up on the seat over the way, mortally wounded dragons dropping from windows and doors along the track.
remember to hang around the water cooler and try to imagine what life will be like virus free.
Big hugs,
Syd

I sure hope that dragon enjoyed the 5 year cease fire because the war is now back on and his days are numbered. The best part is that you won't be fighting him from the trenches like before. This time you're the captain of a state of the art mega battleship named Harvoni. Carry on sailor Greg!!!

Love the eviction notice Tig put a smile on my face that won't leave. Canuck great to have you in my corner mate cheers.
Shadow it will be a positive journey with a negative result as I like to say. The plan at this stage is 12 weeks, I will be going for my ultrasounds next week and pending those results it could be longer. At the end of the day it is what it is and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to be able to treat this and share the journey with all you wonderful people. Thank you all once again, this site is such a blessing and I have made many friends and have found wonderful new ones. Bless you all.
