With the dollar now worth more than the Euro, a lot of people, including me, can travel. Unfortunately Europe is flooded with tourists. Next trip, I do it in the dead of Winter when no one wants to go anywhere.
The last time I traveled a lot was in the early 70's. I was able to do a circumnavigation with 900 bucks and a cheap guitar with a California Bear Flag decal. It's affordable now, which is good. My wife would not be willing to hitchhike through Afghanistan the way I did then.

They want to safeguard their investment! Jet setting around the globe probably gave them concerns on compliance. They want you to sit down and buckle up and be careful to follow their desired guidelines.
You might look at your constipative issues as a bit of luck while traveling. I've heard some of those eastern bloc countries either have no butt wipe or it's laden with bits of wood. You avoided a splinter in your nether region... That could be considered fortunate!

I arranged to start my Epclusa treatment in July, to accommodate some travel we had planned for May and June. My HMO wants to keep me on a short leash during treatment so running off to Europe, then Idaho-Wyoming-Montana to scare trout with my Epclusa in hand was not going to happen.
The Europe trip was F-ing incredible, even though hopping time zones and getting off my dietary routine wreaked havoc with my digestive tract. Maybe I'll write a short story "Not Going While Gone" or something like that. No matter, I have become an expert on constipation in the last 2 years, so I packed my arsenal of solutions. I am sure that made my transit through Security and Customs so smooth. No one wants to Interview a constipated old man with a suitcase full of "problem solvers".
I'm going to allow myself to believe my digestive dysfunction is related to my Hep C. Even though there are other reasons that might be in play, I want my GI tract to return to it's "regular" old self after treatment.
I am very keen to get started on Epclusa and in July-Aug-Sept will be sticking around home and focused on treatment.
In the meantime, I read that it snowed in Bozeman, MT yesterday. So I guess I'll pack my thermal underwear, along with my waders.
