50% of cirrhotics show improvement of Fibroscan score by at least 1 stage, but it takes at least 3 years. 25% will show no change after SVR, and 25% will continue to show fibrosis progression.
My doc has just done his SVR followups, and there appears to be a gene at work. Naturally there is a frantic race to identify the gene.
Figures are not helped by the sometimes vague way cirrhosis is diagnosed, as well as the enormous range of cirrhotic changes.
Cheers

Malcolm had discussed this on several occasions. He was witnessing improvement, but it is slow going. Regardless of speed, any and all improvement is the objective. They are researching medications that reduce the scarring, but that has been slow going with mixed results.

Here is one of those discussions. Cirrhosis regression
Greetings,
The best treatment post SVR is good clean living. Mallani is a good person to follow in that regard. As he states, it just takes some time now.

Any treatment for cirrhosis on the horizon after successful treatment? Is anyone getting reversable scarring results?
