This is an example of how I would start a new thread in the 'Hep C and Nutrition' section of the forum. You can choose which section to start your thread in based on the subject that it pertains to:
1 - Go to the 'Home' page listing all the forum categories, select 'Hep C and Nutrition' (circled in red, 1st attached image below),
2 - On the right side of your screen select 'Start a New Topic' (circled in red, 2nd image),
3 - Enter the subject of your thread in the "Subject' space (bordered in red), enter the subject content in the message body space (bordered in green), and be sure to check the box labeled 'Email me when there is a new post to this topic' (circled in blue),
4 - When you have your post ready click on 'Submit Post' (circled in black, 4th image).
Tig - thanks for your replies but now that you explained that's a chatbox...I don't know where to start a new thread.

AGAIN:
(1) For those of you that registering for new member status and don't provide your correct email contact (I confirm each one personally), your account will NOT be confirmed.
(2) If you register and don't respond to the confirmation email, your account will be deleted. Please use your real email address, it isn't shared with anyone.
(3) If you don't follow these simple guidelines, you will not be able to participate in the discussions. You will still be able to read the public content, but that is all.
Thank you,
Tig Forum Administrator

Just thinking, "Lurkers" might not be a very flattering title. Sometimes information gleaned privately is helpful, so our intentions still serve.
I lurked between SRV and my return more than 2 years later, just because I still cared for and appreciated you all. I just didn't want to get stuck in my HepC identity and needed to go out and play.
Be proud of what you do here. Give it away to non members and respect their nerves and anonymity.
And kick spammer ass.
Many honorable thanks from
Cheddy

Please allow me to repeat, when you register for an account on the forum, you will receive a confirmation email. If you don’t confirm your email address (and aren’t here selling or spamming) I will send an additional confirmation email to you, after 24 hours. If you don’t confirm after that, your initial registration will be deleted. Thank you for understanding our rules and regulations.

To those new members that have just signed up, you will receive a confirmation email from the forum. If you don't confirm your email address, you will not be approved. I continue to see people register, but not confirm or use a fake email address. If you do either, you will not be confirmed. Thank you for understanding the process. It keeps the trolls and spammers away.

Does this apply to murkers too? ... you know ... technically a member but just lurks around? heehee-wheee
I could have easily become senior or veteran lurker, but ... I couldn't hold my tongue. oh dear.
I remember well trying to describe myself "briefly" in 300 characters (or less), HA! couldn't do it, still can't! 3000 characters would be more like it. I am still looking for the verbose corner.
uh-oh, I feel it coming, about to get a warning about how some members drone on and on using up all this good valuable space and time. oh sigh

Just need to remind all new registrants, if you don’t respond to the confirmation email, your account will not be activated and will be deleted. I am receiving too many new member requests that aren’t being confirmed. If you don‘t receive that email, please resubmit. If you use a false address, it is obvious on this end. This is to protect the members from spam and advertising. No exceptions. Thanks...

I would like to ask all of our readers a favor. Since we have no other way of relating to your history, when replying to you as you start out here, I ask you to start your membership by adding a few specific items about yourself, in your signature line and profile bio. We have provided instructions in other areas in this section, so please do that for us. There are many here that offer advice and responses that include reference to their own journey, without describing their journey. If an individual is going to provide a comparison to their own experiences, please briefly describe your history and experience (in 300 characters or less). That includes genotype, fibrosis stage, blood work related to care, ALT, AST & CBC (pre, during, and post), past treatment, start of treatment dates, end of treatment dates and SVR information when you get it. You can see what others have done and you'll get a good idea of what I'm referring to. At the very least, please list your genotype and treatment history.
The reason is to reduce the number of repeat requests for that information. It helps to know whom we're talking to and their treatment history. If you need help setting one up, I'm happy to do it for you. Any of the admin team can do that, just ask for assistance. There is a link in my signature line that will take you to a thread that describes the process.
Thanks for your help with this.

There have been multiple new member registrations recently. I welcome each of you and we look forward to providing support and friendship. I would like to mention that before I activate any new membership, there must be a searchable and deliverable email address listed on your registration. You will be sent a confirmation email and must respond before your membership is activated.
I check each registration personally. All undeliverable email addresses, spam or attempts to advertise, will be rejected and your account deleted or banned outright. You will receive a confirmation message that must be verified. If you don’t verify, your registration will be removed.
I WILL VERIFY IP ADDRESSES TO YOUR LISTED LOCATION. IF IT APPEARS QUESTIONABLE, THE ACCOUNT MAY BE DELETED. PLEASE BE HONEST!
We value our members privacy and their right to a non judgemental environment. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation to keep this the great place it has always been.
Here you go. Mike posted this some time ago. I found it by using Search above. You're doing great!
