Ya ...I was seeing those Harvoni commercials all this time, now not at all for a long time, I'll keep my eyes more peeled... though I actually I think I saw an Epclusa one recently because of Hoodie Trees explanation of how it always came out Appaloosa, so I think of that when it comes on.
I just wonder when a Vaccine for this Hep C virus will come around

Katy,
If you enter DAA in the search bar at the top center of the page, you'll find a boat load of information on them. You can also open the main Hep C News category from our homepage and all the latest and greatest DAAs are listed and the manufacturer monographs. It's a good introduction into these latest HCV treatments.

Oh, I see. Thank you for clearing that up. Direct Acting Antivirals, are safe and are suitable options to treat hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections for hepatocellular carcinoma patients. But haven't heard an ad about that also since covid lockdown

May I know what DAA are you referring to? Is that the Digital Advertising Alliance? Because the last time I heard from them was in May 2020.

Thanks for this, Tig. It makes it easier to explain to others. Awareness is a good thing.
It's a good day for celebrating being cured as well.

Hepatitis is a general term to describe inflammation of the liver tissue. It can arise from several causes, although the most common cause is a viral infection. It presents a significant global public health challenge with 2.3 billion new infections each year and 1.4 million deaths annually, with 98% of deaths being attributable to hepatitis B and C. Additionally, about 5.5 million people worldwide with HIV are also co-infected with hepatitis B or C, which is a rising cause of mortality for the HIV patient group.*
World Hepatitis Day is recognized on the birthday of Dr. Baruch Blumberg (July 28, 1925-April 5, 2011) who discovered the hepatitis B virus and developed the first hepatitis B vaccine. Viral hepatitis is a major global health threat with around 257 million people living with chronic hepatitis B and 71 million people living with chronic hepatitis C worldwide.
