Hi Beth, That is brilliant & so true. Not to mention funny. Thanks for posting it.

Hi Catie, Greg must be the only man I've ever heard of who likes shopping. He's so lucky to have you for support.

My son will go out midnight shopping & all kind of peculiar times to avoid people."

Hi James wishing you a speedy recovery from your fall.

Hi to everyone else out there & best wishes

That is so fantastic Elizabeth and echoes exactly how I`ve been feeling and still am feeling.  Shops are still a no-go area (thank goodness for the internet), my phone is still unplugged most of the time, and someone kindly suggested to me the other day that I`d feel better once the weather got warmer.

Thanks so much for sharing this, it really made me laugh, it`s just so true!  smile

Take care all, love from Jill xx

Elizabeth,

Thanks for sharing the link, however- I must admit that I've been like that for years, and haven't even yet started treatment.

LOL@your cartoon James

and yes - the 'disclosure' thing is a real pitb

with due deference to Greg's wishes at all time of course - when ppl ask if hes ill - I explain what the treatment for hcv is - and that he has to suffer through it for 48 weeks and -  yes he does feel ill all the time - and no he cant work at the moment - and yes he and i do feel that him living a longer life is well worth it

like you i've found that most ppl are totally ignorant about how it is contracted - and i have no hesitation in telling them - maybe it's the way i say it but there's been only postative reacations so far - perhaps we've been lucky ...

PS - Greg IS at work today by the way smile first time in ages and a mammoth effort - love him so mUch XOXOX

Thanks Elizabeth =)

laughed till i cried ... then cried

any and all things like this help a bystander/partner understand just that little bit more - so thank you to your friend as well

although i gotta tell you - i thought that was how everyone, except Greg, finds'the shopping experience' - or for that matter the entire 'being in a public space' experience

Greg actually really enjoys shopping!! - especially in a supermarket!! which has been a source of mystery and wonder to me ever since i met him

he likes to go up and down each and every aisle and potter along in a manner that drives me to the point of being the shopper from hell by the time we get to the cash register

we reached a compromise very early on in our relationship - he can do the shopping by himself if he likes - but if i come with him - it has to be at the quietest time of the week - theres a list - the trolly gets pushed from the end of one aisle to the next (not up and down them) while i go and get whats needed from each aisle - then we leave

while in there i am allowed to mutter and swear about being advertised at from every direction including over the sound system - and i'm allowed to display (with silent body language only - no hand gestures) my opinion of, and intolerance of the other shoppers - Greg just pretends he doesn't know me

more thana 20 second wait to start unpacking my trolly at the checkout i turn into a truly insane pertson

other shopping is usually easier but along the same lines - list - go in - pick it up - leave - i loath it all

for the rest of life i'm actually very balance LOL ... at least thats my story smile

all of which is a totally irrelevant rant ... cheers - Cate

Awesome. A friend of mine suggestedMilk Thistle.....so true. People tease me because I had a bad fall at work, full yard sale skis were 50 feet up the hill. I want to say, I just finished six months of chemo. But no one will understand, I'll just get into the. 'you do chemo for an STD conversation'....lol.

I really wish people knew what Hep c is and how hard it is to deal with.

But hey you guys look fine so it's no big deal !!!

James
