Hi everyone and thank you for your responses! Just to clarify, I never skip, miss or even be late to take incivek. I have a timer on my phone: 7am, 3pm and 11pm. The time I threw up was 6 hours after I ate and took Incivek, it was an obvious indigestion... No throwing up has occurred since:) but I still can't force the normal amount Of food down but I do try. My doctor told me not to work myself out on the fat, but I have to eat when I take it. I also started supplements and shakes.

How are you feeling today Margo?  I agree, you should tell your doc about the throwing up and the indigestion, he should be able to prescribe something to help.   Are you keeping liquids down?  When you keep throwing up you risk becoming dehydrated too, which is not good!

This is your time and your tx, and your health has to be priority.

Take care, hope you get some relief soon.  smile

Margo, Your health is very great reason to call your doctor!
U have to have 20g of fat for medicine to absorb.
This is our only chance to beat hep c right now.
We can't afford to skip fat or miss dosages.
I bet ur doc can help you feel better soon.
If Kate found medicine to help get you some
Keep us posted.
Love JoAnne

DO NOT think for one second that you are bothering yor doc with "silly" things like throwing up! You need 20 grams so the meds will properly absorb! You also will feel better if you have a consistently healthy diet! There are meds to help with nausea, I found Sea Bands worked for me. Find them @ health food store. Good luck, Kate

Hi JoAnne, I haven't told my doctor, dont want to bother him with silly things like that. I actually crave something spicy now like Indian or Thai, I guess because I can't taste anything now, at least the smell will bring the appetite. I know a lot has to do with that 20g of fat, which unfortunately I can't get down. So for stubborn people like me I just have to suffer through.

I gave up trying to eat with the Incivek. I just took two tablespoons of olive oil with the drug and what little I could eat. For the last few months of treatment I survived largely off of liquids. I drank boost supplement (similar to ensure), made protein drinks, drank V8 juice, drank fruit juice and whatever else had lots of calories. Like Alan said, eating healthy goes out the window because it becomes about getting enough calories into your system every day.

For bulk and good carbs, I would add brown rice flour to my protein drinks.

Just got my three month post-tx VL test back last week. All zeros still. Three months to go and I'm in the clear :)

Hi Shaun, thanks for the great idea on olive oil, I'll definatelly will do that since I'm so disappointed with the way food tastes, I don't care as long as I get something in with incivek. Congrats on your great test results, keep up the good work!

Getting that 20 g. Of fat three times a day was a big problem. To sum it up, I tried to get one good meal every evening or two, and the other times I ate nuts, whole milk and cookies, pre-fab sausage and biscuits, peanut butter stuff, egg nog, a hot dog, or any fast food like Mc's or BK. It was a sorry existence. But I managed to survive and only lost 8 pounds. Nausea was not such a problem, but lack of appetite was. Alan

Thanks Alan, just thinking of food makes me nauseous :) I'm trying to stuff myself with anything.

Found myself not be able to keep food in the stomach due to indigestion. Nausea brings vomiting and I feel better. I'm just hoping I will not get used to that. Everything tastes bad, I have no appetite and when I do eat I ended up twice throwing up. Im sure whoevers on Incivek is literally attached to the toilet:) same with me. Dont want to be graphic but you understand me. Any suggestions on easy and nutritious meals? I also bought Ensure just to get something in me. 20g of fat, forget it..,
