  LaBajista,

First, congratulations on completing treatment, sorry to hear that you're having such post tx trouble.     Your fear associated with your right-side discomfort is understandable,  I think it's safe to say that many HCV patients have had  those same thoughts.   However, there are other organs and structures either in the right abdomen, or can cause right side discomfort.:

  • Skin over the right abdomen
  • Liver
  • Gallbladder
  • Pancreas
  • Right kidney
  • Right Ureter (the tube that drain urine from the kidney to be stored in the bladder
  • Right adrenal gland
  • Duodenum ( the very first part of the small intestines)
  • Right part of the large intestines
  • The Appendix
  • Right ovary in females
  • Right Fallopian tube (or simply right tube)
  • Muscles of the right abdominal wall
  • Blood vessels in the right side of the abdomen

The original source of this listing, plus the rest of the article can be found here.

I can't tell you what you "should" or should-not do, but from your post it sounds like you would benefit from getting treatment for the anxiety you describe.   When I halted tx I expeienced considerable anxiety, treatment made a huge difference in the quality of life.    Best wishes, Tim

I completed treatment one week ago.  My EOT labs were pretty much normal, but I've been having some symptoms that are getting worse, and I'm not sure whom to call.  It could be that the problem is something for my treatment doctor, or my regular doctor, or my gynecologist, and it's difficult to know where to turn.

Add a cell phone contract that got cancelled today for some unknown reason (so no way for any drs to call me back), my gynecologist's office telling me I'm no longer a patient there for some unknown reason and they can't add me back in, a family member's scary diagnosis yesterday, and my admittedly out of control anxiety (although I am on medication), and it's all just too much!!  :(
