This is an updated post for those just ending treatment who are curious as to when their hair might start growing again. I am now about 4 months post treatment and I am finally sprouting new hair from the top of my head!

Hi Kathi-- so happy to hear your good news! And your hair will come back and be absolutely gorgeous. My hair fell out worse after stopping tx then it did during. But happy to say my hair is healthier than ever these days. Getting everything back into gear takes a little time--but you are on your way!

I always remember something i heard on here. You can live without hair, you can't live without a liver..Joanna always says something like this....Good advise.

58 yo..Relapsed in 99 and again in 2004. Started triple therapy with Victrelis July 22,2012.  genotype 1a. week 8,12,16,24 VL Undetectable..E.O.T -- 6-22-2013,,,EOT + 24., UND.

I found that my hair stayed very thin but what I do have left really grows quickly and makes me look like a fuzzed ball. So good luck on your treatment and I do hope your hair comes back thicker than before.

Hi Kathi, that is excellent news, congrats to you!!  You`ve been UND since week 4 so I don`t think you`ve got any worries about SVR...I`d say it`s done and dusted!!  Very well done!  biggrin

Your hair will come back...it just takes time, so be patient!

My husband had genotype 1a, 46yo, started triple therapy (peg/rib/vic) 23rd July 2012, VL prior to treatment 14 million, UNDET 12, 24 weeks, EOT 24th June 2013, EOT +1.5 weeks UNDET, EOT +12 weeks & EOT +27 weeks UNDET; SVR January 2014

Hi Kathi,

Congrats on the SVR12! Your hair will grow back and by EOT +24 you will have more hair than ever. Go out and celebrate. Cheers.

Geno 1b, IL28B CT,  x3 prior relapser,  ex-cirrhotic, 75 yo, did 48 weeks with Victrelis/Peg./Riba.  VL 1.28m at start, UNDET. at 8 ,12 ,16 ,24 ,30  and 48 weeks.  EOT 15 Feb 2013 , UNDET. at EOT + 28 weeks. SVR!  Still Undet. at EOT +5 years

Congrats!!!!! I just got my three month EOT UND and it does feel so good. I am hoping for more hair growth too. Maybe a year from now it will be close to normal.

Genotype 3.  Treatment started on 1/11/2013 with Ribavirin and Pegatron.  Week 4 UND.  Week 12 UND.  Ended treatment on 6/28/2013.  Six months post treatment 12/04/2013 SVR.

After a slight scare - hep nurse called me a few times and did NOT leave a message, which convinced me it must be bad news - I got the great news that I am UND at 12 weeks. Such a relief!

And for the ladies, I decided I need to chop off the rest of my hair because the longer lengths were so straggly ( I wear it in a ponytail which helps camouflage it) my hairdresser said I still don't have enough hair on my scalp to cut it off. Now I just have a shorter ponytail. Wonder when it will start growing back... It's been 3 months now and I really don't have any new growth yet. But if this all I have to worry about, then I'm pretty lucky!
