Interferon strikes again?  Quite a few people I know who were on it have had lingering aches and pains after completing tx. I am 2 years post my interferon tx, which only lasted 2 months, and I feel great now but it has taken all this time to get back to where I am today. I must say that my body is different after tx. I can't put my finger on it exactly but mentally and physically I underwent some changes.

I have read on here that some people have experienced some mental issues such as feeling overwhelmed sometimes and being confused sometimes. I have experienced this to some small degree. It's easy for me to snap out of most of the time and I think I have it to a lesser degree because I was only on the peg interferon for a short time.

Thank God most of the new meds do not require interferon.

I think you will continually feel better Malcolm. You are very active and so am I. I think that helps a lot.

Keep us posted as I am very interested in everyones progress into a life without Hep C. We are so lucky.

Hi all,

My post-Rx story is getting like a soap opera.  Since returning to golf, I've had R. forefoot pain after walking, usually starting after 6-10 holes. The pain is quite severe, and is relieved by taking off my shoe and walking without a shoe for 5 minutes. The pain usually returned after a few holes, so shoe off again.  I blamed this on my new golf shoes, but walking along in your socks does not go down well at my club. As the pain gradually got worse and more frequent over the last 2 months, I went and had an XRay as I was sure I had a stress fracture.  The XRay was normal, apart from a rather flat foot arch.  A golfing partner suggested a visit to a Podiatrist,  so off I go. She requests an MRI of my foot, and lo and behold, I've got a 4mm Morton's Neuroma ( a benign nerve sheath tumour of the intermetatarsal plantar nerve).  Treatment is surgery or injections which I dismiss, so she takes a scan of my foot and makes an orthoptic insert for my shoe. This raises the midtarsal joint and spreads out the forefoot, taking pressure off the neuroma.  I wore my shoe with the insert for the first time yesterday, and was completely pain free!

Although I cannot realisticly blame this on Rx or HCV, it's just another post Rx issue which has a happy ending. I knew nothing about Podiatry, but now have a healthy respect. Cheers.
