I'm continuing to search for additional information on copay assistance, in addition to the many options we've already been listing on the forum in the recent few weeks. Anyone that hasn't read the information on our other threads, let me know and I'll either repost them or direct you to those posts. This evening I found this article from Dec. 2013. It discusses the two triple therapies with Incivek and Victrelis but also all of the new wonder meds being released now, Sovaldi (sofosbuvir) and Olysio (simeprevir), and others. The success rates are interesting when compared to all forms of current treatment. This is a good read and describes what we've already been saying. The insurance companies and HepC/HIV advocacy groups are madder than hell about the price and I think if you read between the lines, this outrageous behavior by Big Pharma isn't going to be tolerated for long. Their greed may result in a continuance of the triple therapy regimens until some sort of financial understanding occurs. Instead of me critiquing the article for you, please read it and lets voice opinions on how you think this is going to go.

Lucy, I'm very sorry you're running into roadblocks. Can you provide your husbands first name? I'd like you or him to introduce yourselves when you have the chance. I'd certainly enjoy getting to know you better. This same article explains the reasons why the government is stonewalling Medicare, Medicaid and VA patients, it's all to do with the cost. Has your husband tried or applied for either of the current triple therapy treatment regimens? That may be an option. I also noticed that the Gilead Assistance program lists eligibility by income, not insurance or government care coverage currently held. I think you should request his doctors, all of them, to appeal to Gilead in written form, you too, describing his condition, past history with transplantation and the urgency for treatment now. They know how to write those appeal letters, ask them to help, go to your local legal aid office and see if you can't get some free or low cost legal assistance to write the appeal letters. Just refuse to take no for an answer! It's an uphill fight, seems like everything worth fighting for is never easy. Shouldn't be that way, but...  Read this and take note of the agencies out there. If you need help finding the other agencies here on the forum, let me know. Trust prayer and a positive attitude, they will get you through!

The veterans administration gives my husband all his meds but being sofosbuvir is a new med they don't have it right now and God only knows when they will and my husband needs this med, sofosbuvir at this moment.I have tried to receive the assistance program from sofosbuvir but my husband does not qualify being he has medicare and the veterans administration.Ian so desperate Iam ready to write letters to any rich benefactors if I knew any.This journey has been extremely difficult for my husband and I.He has had two livers and one kidney transplant.Ian all alone up here in PA, I have no friend at all and all my family is in the city and they will never know how hard it is for me every second of the day, mentally,emotionally and physically Last year my husband was in the hospital for three months before he had his liver and kidney transplant ,I had to sleep in the hospital hallways, chair and my car which I can't even drive for I didn't and still learning how to drive.I had to pay people $100,00 dollars to and from home to hospital three times a week.Those of you that have famil

PS: I just saw your Veteran status on the chat section. Have you tried to get help through the VA? They have done a lot to help me with this, lab tests and support at times. They have a huge HCV assistance program right now. I highly recommend you do this.
