Very sorry to hear your news.  Try to be encouraged that new treatments are on the horizon and your day of triumph will indeed come!  Caroline

Hi again Nicole,

It doesn't help to wonder what went wrong. You're not cirrhotic at your age, with a fairly normal biopsy 4 years ago. You had such a good response to the leadin that I was certain you'd do well. I guess working such long shifts didn't help particularly with the anaemia you had. I would have a good long rest and try to organise life so that treatment next time is more relaxed.  Personally, I'd avoid the antiproteases and wait for Ledipasvir to be approved. This will be a single pill a day, mixed with Sovaldi. For you, there's no hurry. Cheers.

My eot was und..   I'll have to look up my dosage reduction and procrit amount.  I just wonder why after I responded this would happen.  Maybe I'm cirrhotic and don't know?  Maybe I should have treated for 36 to 48 weeks?   There were a handful of times I missed some Victrelis.   :(

Hi Nicole,

Really sorry to hear the news.  It's pretty rotten that you're the only person to relapse after a Victrelis RVR (that I've heard of). After your bad time on Rx, at least next time will be easier. Whether you want to jump back in and try the new combos is up to you. You can certainly afford to wait for other DAA's that will be approved this year. Take it easy.

Sorry to ask at this time, but how much Riba reduction and Procrit did you have ? Also, did you have a VL at 24 weeks or EOT? You only mention the 17 week VL.

You lost this fight, but next time will be easier and more successful. All the best.

I can`t say for certain, Nicole, but we`ve had several new members who`ve joined over recent weeks and who are now on this treatment, since Sovaldi was approved by the FDA and it became possible for this `off label` combo to be prescribed.  You`d need to talk it over with your doctor really as these drugs are very new.

So sorry to hear this news, Nicole, I really sympathise.  It must feel like such a blow to you right now, this is a setback but you can still go on and clear this virus with one of the new drugs combos now available.

One of our members `Darkstar` is currently doing treatment with a Sovaldi and Simeprevir (Olysio) `off label` combo after his previous treatment with the incivek triple therapy wasn`t successful, and he was Und after 2 weeks.  Here`s his thread if you`d like to see..

http://hepcfriends.activeboard.com/t56297993/sofosbuvir-plus-simeprevir-undetectable/

You did the best you could, so be kind to yourself and please don`t despair, you`ll get there in the end!

Wishing you all the best with the next round...your doctor will talk you through your best options.

Now what? My doctor said they now have the medication that you only take for 12 weeks but i could wait to treat for 6 months and get the non interferon tx. I'd prefer to just get it over with right now. What is the medication? Im trying to research but I'm so upset I cannot focus.

Hello Nicole

I'm sadden to hear your latest news, I know how it can overwhelm a person but stay as active as you can and know many people have beat this on the second go around and especially now with the new agents and treatments you odds of beating HCV is greater then ever.  You have a lot more living to do at your young age and only a short time until you beat this Dragon for good.

Sending hugs

matt
