Abbvie Findings: 2014 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections

Hey Tig

Interesting reading, Abbvie certainly has one of the highest SVR rates for GT-1b to come from trials, to bad they have to wait another 8 months to get approved.

Here is a more detailed look at the study-http://www.natap.org/2014/CROI/croi_01.htm

Ribavirin on Abbvies GT-1b study did not seems to make much difference but their were no cirrhotics enrolled in the study, so longer duration and Ribavirin for cirrhotics is a safe and better approach.

Have been waiting 9 months for Abbvie's Turquoise II detail study results so I can figure out what went wrong with my treatment, I'm still in the dark and need to know which Rav's appeared and their current status to be able to choose the correct DAA's for treatment. Maybe in April at the EASL in England they will disclose, one can only hope.

Hi Tig,

Thanks for the update. If I was Geno 1a, I'd still want ribavirin, and if cirrhotic, I'd want 24 weeks of the stuff.

Abbvie are hoping for the best, considering they are trialling newer (? better) versions of their drugs. Perhaps they will make it cheap! Cheers.
