"Despite receiving ART, patients coinfected with HIV and HCV had higher rates of hepatic decompensation than HCV monoinfected patients," the researchers concluded. Lo Re suggested that these findings emphasize the urgency of timely hepatitis C treatment for coinfected individuals."
