My dearest Sandy, all of my blood level are completely perfectly normal, HgB 158  and holding. My Dr always said I was the healthiest sick person she ever new.  It saddens me to hear that he is refusing to give you Procrit, I had it given to me 85% of the time I was on treatment. It did make me vomit  once a week but at least I stayed around 1.24 I think, my old post will say. Heck I even trough away some of it away and I think i offered it up to anyone that wanted it here on the board. I'm still doing therapy on my rotator Cuff surgery I had 6 weeks ago, I fell and slipped on the ice and thought I re-tore it but the therapist thinks it will be ok with time and to keep doing the exercises  in a slow pace.  I'm still really messed up from some of the sides and I'm really twisted about my future as I have not worked full time in 12 years and I'm definitely out of shape. I am definitely scared of failing the grade. anyways Thanks all Cheers, 3 days till Augusta GA

 am so pleased to learn of your astounding news & accomplishments w/ your teaching skills. i think you know i retired after 29 yrs. teaching to resolve the hepc for the 2nd time in my life.

how pleased you & yours must be to attain svr 3 months eot & reduce ferretin levels drastically.

currently i'm 3 mo. svr although have elevated ast by 10 points. also ferretin went down from 1999 to 720. this tuesday i begin blood letting only if my hgb is greater than 11.  doctor won't write script for procrit although my hemo is at 10.5. i'm between a rock & a hard place!!!!!!

just out of curiosity do you suddenly feel better w/out the ferritin overload? also do you have low hemoglobin & thallamessimea minor as well? this is my primary problem as of date & just want relief before my liver enzymes rise again!!!!!

looking forward to hear any/all advice from someone in my predicament.

It`s wonderful to hear how far you have moved on with your life now and you have accomplished so much already.  Have a great trip with your wife, you certainly deserve a break after your long and difficult tx!

Hi Jack,

So good to hear from you! It has been too long since I saw the ol' Teddy Trout avatar! I always liked that one. So glad you've had the strength to get back into teaching, but I'm certain that kind of schedule is taking every bit of recovered energy you have. My hat's off to you my friend and hope the good news and strength continue to improve, as well as an improvement in your COPD. That alone will give you a welcome boost of strength and vigor like no other. It sounds like you've got an excellent plan for the future and we're all thrilled to hear your good news. We still have a number of members and caregivers dealing with these extended Interferon treatments and your wisdom will always be valuable here. I'm tested SVR at 12 weeks and will be seeing the Hepatologist in May for the 6 month test. I Have been really pushing myself and even returned to substitute  teaching as a Industrial Vocational  teacher and they have me doing everything else as well for K-12. I have really enjoyed being back and have really enjoyed teaching the 7s and 8s. I seem to be one of the only real IA Subs in the two school divisions I Sub for. I have been really very employed. I think I have had 12 days off since Jan 6, I'm still very fatigued and my COPD is still hitting me hard but getting better as I get further away from my finish chemo date. I had my Rotator Cuff totally repaired and it ended up being a major  repair job instead of a simple Rotor Rooter job, so I been really hurting lots but I seems to be doing very good. I'm been really pushing the rehab hard and been told I need to slow down and let it heal more. It's been hard for me to slow down as every fiber in me wants to come alive again after 16 years of bring disabled and told to make my will up. The Technical training institute here has signed me on as well to sub for their Vocational and Carpentry courses and have hinted that they have a new position opening full time as a  Work Placement officer for the collage but I'm not sure what I'm going to really to do in the near future as I'm still recovering. The Sore muscles and joints have not gotten any better but my Ferritin level have dropped from 876 to a supernormal 75 so no more blood letting needed. My wife and I are taking 3 weeks off and going o Augusta GA on the 12th and staying with friends and doing the last day of the Masters, Thought I would drop you all a line and let you know that I have really enjoyed and appreciated the support and kind works of encouragement during those horrible 48 weeks of Hell. But I guess three times was the charm and maybe I get to stay a little bit longer and do what ever the gods saved me to do on this earth. Well really tied and going to bed. Cheers Jack
