Hi SusiQ, that is wonderful, congrats on your 12 week post Und result!! biggrin  I`m so pleased for you, and thanks for sharing your good news!

There`s very little chance of relapsing beyond this point so it looks like SVR to me, and most clinical trials consider SVR12 to be the crucial result.

Great news that Merck is starting phase 3 trials at last, they`ve got some catching up to do!

Enjoy every day of your virus-free life, you`ve certainly earned it!

Hi Susan,

I've been waiting for those three BIG (SVR) letters to accompany one of your posts. My favorite first word for this moment is always  WOOT!!! With all the cloudy days you've had recently, I'm so happy to hear the sun is shining brightly today! I'm so glad you had this opportunity to treat and were able to get on such a successful trial. I expect to hear more good news from you on a regular basis, things really are looking good for us all! Congratulations my friend, and as has been rightly said many times, you're an inspiration to us all. Your ability to find valuable and current trial data has and continues to be a gold mine for the forum and our members. That, combined with your compassion and willingness to help us all, is so appreciated. I look forward to your continued input and good news! Thanks Susan and good luck always... Now on to SVR24!!

Wonderful news, SuziQ.  Like many others, I wonder how being virus-free would affect energy levels and the overall sense of well being. Thanks for the positive thoughts.  You are an inspiration for all of us.  Stay well.

That is great news. For those of us still on tx it is good to know better days may be ahead. Congratulations. You most certainly have earned it.

Hi all,

Posted on Tig's post that I just got my 12 week post treatment lab results and I am still UND and considered SVR.

And Merck will be doing phase 3 trials this Spring.  Their combo is getting great results, but they are a little behind the other companies in doing trials---so my coordinator says they are doing 4 Phase III trials as soon as possible.

I am feeling good.  Did not realize that Hep C was really wearing me down.  I thought it was my age.  These new drugs are going to make a tremendous difference in the lives of many people.  Let's hope they become available to everyone in the near future.

Anyone near Dallas Texas--there are new trials enrolling now at my center.

Love and luck to all who have done, are doing or hope to do treatment.  It has definitely made a change in my life.

SusiQ I just know that you will have SVR when you get back your results.  You have such an upbeat, positive attitude, in spite of all you have been through.  What a great boost for the immune system.   (Not to mention the great meds you had)  smile

Best of luck to you.  Maddie

Hi SusiQ, I`m so glad to hear how well you`re feeling, and despite all the trauma and hardships you`ve had to endure recently you are still managing to hold on to your positive and joyful outlook.  When it comes down to it, our health is much more important than any of our possessions, and I think going through treatment can often change our perspective on life.

It`s great that you have so much more energy now, and your recovery is going so well.  After my tx I was also very surprised to realised just how much Hep C had been affecting my state of health, so I can understand how you feel.

All the best of luck to you with your 12 wks post tx results, and thank goodness for our computers!

Thanks for sharing your thought with us, you are an inspiration!

Thanks Matt, Tig and all,

It has been an adventure.  I certainly did not expect to have the energy that I have now.  Not having Hep C has been a totally new experience.  I wanted to see how I would feel if I didn't have Hep C.  That was my reason for doing the clinical trial.  The changes in my health and mental outlook have been an unexpected reward.  Because of aging, I thought the exhaustion etc was normal.  I didn't think Hep C had affected me much.  I didn't know that I had cirrhosis until I was screened for a clinical trial. I seemed to have more energy than the few folks I know who are my age--even with HepC.

It has been six months since I first tested UND and three months since I completed treatment.  Hopefully the test on last Tuesday will still be UND.  Then my six month EOT test on July 1st.

Since FibroScan is not yet widespread here, my insurance company will probably not pay for one to see how my liver is doing.  Sure wish the clinical trials included a fibroscan at some point after end of treatment.  It would make a great selling point IF the fibrosis/cirrhosis is reversing after treatment.

My material things are not much of a loss to me.  Not having a toilet until today was really an inconvenience.  I have had plenty and had very little at different times.  My car is my only real necessity.  I'd be lost without it. Oh yes, and my computer--so glad it still works. It is a laptop and the screen got a little melted, but the computer and all my files, pictures still are there--just have to plug it into a monitor now.

It is sort of fun being old.  Don't have to please bosses and I have long since raised my children --well maybe.  My two great grandsons turned 15 this Spring and my two great granddaughters start their teenage years later this year.  Don't have to fulfill anyone's expectations of what I should become.

I wish everyone success with the wonderful new meds!!!!!

Hi Susan,

I'm thrilled to hear your good news and must agree that SVR12 is highly likely. You were on a potent combo and did very well throughout. All indicators appear good and as always your attitude and outlook for the future are positive. I want you to know that you are a big inspiration here and I look forward to reading your posts and progress each time I see them. Nobody is more deserving of this than you.

I wish you luck and good fortune going forward. I hope that your home dilemma is resolved soon and in your favor. Please let us know how everything goes. Good luck!

Tig

Hey Suziq

Great to hear about all the positive results from your EOT. Its been a pleasure to follow your trial and the progress that you have made. Your story gives all the older ones that have to battle HCV a great amount faith and encouragement.

We are all hoping you are recovering from the fire and the loss of all your material things.

Hi All,

Went in for my 12 week post treatment labs yesterday.  Pretty sure all will be well.  Merck will be announcing the results from this trial ( C-Worthy)  Saturday, April 11 in London at the Liver Conference.

I will be totally shocked if I am not still UND.  I have felt better these last two weeks than I have in years.  My house burned down a month ago without insurance, my daughter is broke and very upset about her situation (and somewhat blaming me).  I sleep 8-9 hours each night.  I wake up feeling refreshed and rested.  Do not feel a need for a nap--after years of daily naps.  I was truly unaware of the effect Hep C must have had on me over the many years.

The Merck combo with Riba for 18 weeks was hard on my stomach--lots of pain toward the end and the first few weeks post treatment. That has gone away.  The fatigue before and during treatment has mostly disappeared.  I am astonished at the difference in my stamina.

I am still having some short term memory problems, but that could be my age--or that may clear up too as time goes by.

Hope everyone on the new meds do as well as I have done so far.  I'll post my twelve week results when I get them

SuziQ
