Good to hear.  IO start to feel well immediately post treatment, but really feel better after 5 mos.  I didn't suffer too much from "brain fog" during treatment but definitely have a clearer mind.  At my age and a year of treatment I am never sure if I am thinking clearly or am I thinking so poorly that I think I am thinking clearer.  nonono

I'm excited and hope others have equally good post treatment recoveries.

Good news and nice to hear, Kristen. I'm over twice your age, but still optimistic about recovering a sense of normalcy more sooner than later. We'll know here shortly. ;)

Yes, I noticed an almost immediate mental clearing when I was no longer on the drugs.  It was such a relief--just as you described.

And, yes, I'm sure it does help to be younger.  Thanks for reminding me (lol).  You lucky duck.  smile

Yay my first post on the "Post Treatment" thread! Woohoo!  Just wanted to check in as today I am 1 week post EOT (12 weeks Sov/Riba) and wanted to share my thoughts thus far on the dissipating/lingering side effects as I've read that it can sometimes take up to 6 weeks for the meds to clear (after 12 week treatment).

The most immediate improvement I have noticed is my grasp on my own mind. I consider myself very much "on top of my game" on a regular basis with a great memory, etc. The last 4-6 weeks on treatment was rough; I had no grasp on myself, very little short term memory and felt like a puppet. Within this first week, I'm remembering things again and not feeling overwhelmed or concerned my brain to decide to check itself out mentally at 3pm. I'm loving it! There is still some fatigue however a vast improvement. This weekend (only a few days post EOT) I went home to NY for the weekend. I was up at 4:45am Saturday morning and was non stop until bed at midnight - No issue!  It was also super hot and humid and I didn't pass out or anything (but did still feel as thirsty as when on treatment).  As for the Riba Rage - well that apparently is still there under the surface, it's just not as quick to rear it's ugly head. The Riba Rash and skin problems on the other hand, well that doesn't seem to be improving. I'm using cortisone cream and will give that some time before seeing the dermatologist.

Overall, I'm feeling surprisingly better in just a weeks time than I expected to.  I'm wondering if the quicker than usual turn-around is because I am younger? I really expected to have at least 3-4 weeks of feeling like garbage after treatment ended based on all that I had been reading. Either way... I'm excited and hope others have equally good post treatment recoveries.
