The new drugs your nurse was talking about are the Interferon free all orals.  Gilead has a one-pill per day combo that should be FDA approved October 10th and ABBVie has another all oral combo that is expected to be approved in December.  I suspect the reason she wants you to wait until November or December to begin tx is that she is hoping to get you in on one of those.  

In the meantime take good care of yourself.  I like your idea to get your dental issues taken care of before tx. The all orals shouldn't wreak as much havoc on your teeth or gums as Interferon based tx but still a good idea to take care of your dental health now if you are able to.  Unlike Vegas, what happens in the mouth doesn't stay in the mouth; it can impact your whole body.  smile

Hey Josh,

Good to know that you're going to be able to treat with Sovaldi. It's a powerful drug and combined with Int/Riba, you should do very well. Your length of treatment will depend on the outcome of your biopsy. It will be 12 or 24 weeks. I've had 3 biopsies and even though they tell you you will be awake, it's very unlikely that you will remember it if you are. The last two I had, I woke up in a recovery room and didn't remember a thing! Didn't hurt and had zero complications afterwards.

Be cautious with your use of supplements and vitamins during treatment. Many of them are of little benefit anyway. The manufacturers will talk them up to make you believe they can do all and cure all, when all they do is drain your wallet and adversely impact your lab tests dusting treatment. If you take anything, clear it with your doctor and keep it to a multi vitamin, without iron. That will be sufficient and won't have any negative effects on treatment.

Good luck and I hope you get that dental pain under control soon. interferon does add to the dental issues, so be sure you let your dentist know you're going to be starting it. Do your best to care for your teeth while on treatment, it's very important. Many of us experienced tooth loss or damage secondary to Interferon, so we're familiar with what's ahead. Be conscious of that and you'll be better off for it.

Anyway so yesterday I went north an hour to Walla walla Washington to thier mega Hospital complex pretty good spread they have ... took little time to find correct building.....

 

Gastro 

Brianne Bridgeland, RN, MSN, ARNP she was younger then I percieved very optimistic gona make me wait till November or December to start any treatment 

her theory is Interferon.Riba and to my surprise Sovoldi  Ihavent checked the length of said combo ....  think the actual specialist is Jame Hari .. but maybe shell handle everything ?

shes was very optimistic and talked really fast I still got my questions acrossed anyway :)  um she claims she hasnt been turned down for Sovoldi yet I said Oregon is very stand offish due to cost  on how many people they let have sovoldi.... she said in October a new drug or drugs may be approved not sure which company Gillead abbie V ... ILL look into it... said generaly they only give simpervir to people with sovaldi so no triplle on that... ? Biopsy is next said she be a callin in a few weeks im interested  to see how much damage over 10 or 11 years since 2002 of having the virus and not really abstaining from drugs or alcohol have caused hopefully little to none :) In retrospect i shoulda ceased earlier but had no insurance...  she says they sedate you but you are still awake when they do the biopsy i bet that will be a sensation :) shes says they are very good at it.... she gave me a sovoldi packet havent read it yet but will later today and a general knowledge packet ...said will need a new tooth brush at sum point when on tX ... so either the triple hopefully or maybe sum other state of the art TX is proably in my future YAY i say ....

I said I enjoy your optimistic view she said she had a hockey guy who had very little side effects from Interferon riba and whatever else so TBD what side effects iLL have hopefully very few but if not i will weather it... hopefully im not intollerant but if i am there are other options.... she siad its great i do my own research as ive been doing .. alota that thanks go to you guys and your vast knoweldge and this 5 star website ... she said coffe is good i drink 1 cup a day she said go for 4 if you want ... she said turmeric and certain other herbals before or even on treatment are ok like folic acid or B12... gave sum online thing to check records that they have ....meeting was very brief like 20-30 minuets .... she wants me to quit smoking if I can I said that may be very hard but i will try to do sumthing.... I smoke like half a pack a day like 8-12 cigs.... I may try to switch to E-cig here very soon..... my next regular doctor appointment is in august i will request another blood test to monitor virus levels and activity recent one was june 3rd think the doc appointment is august 15 th or sumthin ....

 found 2 new vitamins minerals I may try called michohydrin and Superoxide Dismutase and will re up my other volley of vitamins and minerals including Zeolite and will order raw turmeric to make into a drink I hear it has a great effect as a Kappa Bblock of the virus .... hard to say if all that vitamins are good for you or not i know for sure folic acid and B-12 are though ...so maybe sum do work ....

     I hope to rid the virus but i feel awesome just to be able to try to rid it win lose or draw i will feel good just knowing I tried Im sorry i was too reckless in my youth or didnt stop drinking sooner ... she said after virus is gone its gone .. if i do drink again i will be more carefull that wont be for at least a year or more ... I hear marijuana has no affect on the virus but i will only use if I run into adverse side affects ...... knowledge is power it safeguards you and arms you.....

 I talk to God daily in my conscience about everything everything i have predicted including the six month clean off everything waiting period to the biopsy has been spot on....

I kinda know what there gona do before they do it so no surprises other then sovoldi maybe being available.. haha her direct quote were gona be spending 80-100 thousand dollars on you do you think you can quit smoking... I said tobacco is by far has the strongest grip ...meth and alcohol or weed ... were easy .......

I hung with  people that exposed me to this stuff they are good people but i regret the meth and alcohol from the past ..especially meth my teeth are wrecked and need to be extracted and i need denture or implants have a dentist appointment next week ... at least maybe with this gap in treatment maybe they can do sumthing before i get on Tx both at the same time sounds like not a good time.....  im gona start jogging and working out again as of now gona go check in with my boss at work so iLL jog there been 35-40 celcius all week so ints only 530 so its still cooler out.. 95-100 F' ........  I care for other people more genraly then myself ....... but time to fixed what i inflicted through stupidity upon myself ...

 The dragon is gona know hes been in a fight that for sure ... either way like i said its all good ... having Hep C for me has never saddned my demanor but i know i got it and that it needs taken care of... alota that is cause i have no syptoms proably.... or im just to stupid to recognise any ... I know one day it could get far worse if not confrontoed and am thankfull to have a chance to right this situation......

    Anyway any imput from you guys who I look at in the same level or higher then any doctor would be greatly appreciated for I do trust you ... and will do what you recommend 

sorry I went on and on about everything under the sun I should posted this in the rant and rave section :) 

  anyway time to prepare for battle :) I check back later as i always do I read alot of posts on this Forum and there all great ....

gota damn tooth infection left side slightly puffy takin 875 mill amoxcillin twice a day .. thier annoying but oh well :)  usually only getm 1 every six months took Ibuprofen too advil Ibu is liver friends Tylenol is bad for you ...    be gone afflictions ye shall not rain on my parade :) every1 have a good Wednesday :)  soon as figure out how to make a avatra or post pictures of my cats myself or scenic pictures i shall :)
