Again thank you all so much, although I had had it for so many yrs I feel in some ways fortunate that I only knew for a few yrs before tx, and then to get the easiest of all tx's, yes there is the downside that I may not be in the condition I am had I known, but having seen/read what so many of you have gone thru with such harsh tx therapies only to be unsuccessful I wonder if it would have mattered that much? Probably the best thing that would have come from knowing is I would have given up the beer drinking which im sure would have lessened the damage that eventually occurred.

But we can't change the past we can only adjust for the best future....BTW Malcom is that a grand baby or great grand? Kinda looks like you :) darn good looking young man.

Hi Duane,

Fantastic result. You beat the odds. I hope your liver can recover to some degree but it will take some time. Enjoy life!

You coulda' fooled me... I remember just weeks ago when you shared your experience to help me in a thread in which I had some questions. That meant a lot to me... and still does.

This place is certainly a life saver, Literally. It's a 'WE' thing around here with no judgements, and it makes it an even better place when we get great news like your SVR 12 from a fellow member.

Congrats again Duane!!!

I am very fortunate to have a great family and friends that have put me on their prayer chains and have continuously let me know how much I mean to them, even when I didn't feel worthy of it.

I truly think that I will continue to improve with time and proper living.

I really hope that I can overcome the joint and muscle pain that has plagued me so much, if I can get past that, where I no longer require meds to deal with it I've got a great retirement coming up !

Again thank you forum friends....I watch and wait for all of you to get this monkey off your backs so you can focus on living.....BTW Grandbaby 2 is due on my B-day in Dec. So that is also a great motivator to keep working to get better.

Blessings to all!

Duane

I just can't get over how wonderful this is!   Not only cirrhosis but decompensated cirrhosis and your numbers are still improving, Duane.  This is a beautiful thing.

Thank you all very much, I'm not the best at being as supportive as all you have been to me, but having a place like this to share and vent or rant has been very very helpful to me in my struggles.

It's a blessing to have others who understand the difficulties we all suffer and are always so upbeat and encouraging.

Thanks Isiscat for posting this, it's beyond what I deserve.

May God show all of you the same progress that he has shown me.

Duane

Next week 3 month transplant MRI and full blood work, I may just get to go to 6 month tests or get dropped from the list altogether.

What criteria do they use to determine whether to drop you from the TP list or not - MELD score only? I'm not very informed about transplants other than I know I will eventually need one, no chance of being dropped from the list because my cirrhosis is in decompensated stage (ESLD). So I assume your cirrhosis is still in compensated stage if you have a chance of being dropped from the list?

My diagnosis was ESLD all my paperwork just says Cirrhosis and the fact that I've had acites, edema, slight encephalopathy, portal hypertension, varicies, I was on a slippery slope downward fast. I'm the only one who is saying that about getting off the list, I don't know if they drop you or not , but I thought I remember when I was put on you have to have a MELD of at least 12 to be put on the list.

Now my AST and ALT are in the 50's INR is 1.4, Billy is 1.3, these are all improvements to the function, another noticeable difference is I know my spleen is not as enlarged I can feel that, acites and edema are way down. So all in all things are just working better, at  least whatever is left. I think this MRI coming up will be interesting to see if they can see improvements?

Thanks for all the well wishes and support.
