I am almost as sick from what happened in the development of Harvoni / Sovaldi as I was from interferon riba and the trial I did I'm just trying to accept that its here. and now we can get it. I don't think this argument it over. When i'm done fighting Hep C I will join the fight or band wagon against greed.

Excerpt: "Gilead has said in a policy position paper. "The recognition and protection of intellectual property by governments is the foundation of innovation across all industries. This is especially true in the development of new medicines. Without patent protection, pharmaceutical companies could not secure or generate the up-front capital required from their investors to ensure continued research and development of new medicines that address unmet patient needs."

These folks would never get past that first sentence with me. I would blow so many holes in that cud, their next med would have to be called Havarti.

Cheers! ;)

PS didn't they acquire solvaldi from some other company that stole it from the inventor? I did read there was a lawsuit filed.  Maybe I have the story wrong, but that would be my first Q- how is acquisition "innovative"?
