Hi Angie,

I want to welcome you to the forum too! You're with a bunch of great folks that have experienced many of the same issues or know someone that did. Together we can often put our heads together and find a solution, we try anyway! I'm glad you're here.

This problem with Medicare Part D is affecting a lot of people right now. The problem this year is from a budget that was stressed before these new and expensive treatments came along. They are going to better address these issues this coming year as well as the discussions they're having with Gilead on pricing. We can also hope to see some competition from rival manufacturers that may encourage lower overall prices. Don't give up hope for better prices, it's just going to take some time.

I don't know if you're aware that in addition to Gilead's Support Path program, there are other payment assistance programs available too. I have a link in my signature section (in red at the bottom) that will provide some additional options to you. The PAN Foundation has helped many people along the way. Give them a call. Enlist the help of your doctors office with these issues, they can help you, when and if an appeal is necessary. Some of these programs require you to be denied a couple of times before helping. Be sure you ask what their guidelines for approval are.

I hope some of this will help you. Please stay in touch and let us know if we can do anything, as well as your progress. Good luck!

Tig

See if gilead can help. Call their support line, sorry I don't have the phone number to give you but I know they've helped others who have been denied through their insurance company. I'm not sure of the protocol but they are some people here who have done this with success. Welcome to the forum and good luck.

Hi Angie, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you`re having difficulties applying for Harvoni.  I live in the Uk and I`m not familiar enough with the US health care system to advise you but I`m sure some of our American members will be along to talk with you soon.

In the meantime, do you have any more information you could share with us, for example have you had any previous treatment for your Hep C and do you know your genotype and any recent blood test or biopsy results?  Just so we can get a better idea of your circumstances.

Good luck!  Jill

Considering treatment with Harvoni.  Have applied for Support Path but not eligible because I am on Medicare Part B and D.  Out of pocket will be over 12k, can't afford.  If anyone has any suggestions of can refer me to a group discussing this topic let me know.  Angie
