Hello Rick,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your blog. You're a very good writer and a solid young man. You seem to have developed the type of base that could take you through the rest of your life doing wonderful things. While you definitely need to stay in the moment and beat this, I would encourage you to also keep an eye out for your future...after hep c. I look forward to hearing how things progress for you.

Hi Rick, just like to say welcome to you!

Thanks for introducing yourself to us, I`m glad you decided to start posting!  You`ve obviously been through some rough times with your previous unsuccessful treatments and it must have been a relief to have your Harvoni approved so easily.  Thanks for sharing your blog with us, I`ve had a quick read of some of it and I like your style.  Keeping a journal or online blog can be very therapeutic and a creative way of tracking your journey, as I expect you`ve found.

Wishing you all the best of luck this time round, do keep us updated on your progress!

Thank you very much! i try to add as much humor as i can to the situation.

i will do my best to share my story on here as well.

As for Harvoni, i happen to have an excellent team working with me. My GI submitted the forms as soon as she could, we made sure to utilize mysupportpath for Harvoni assistance, and since i'd failed so recently all the prep work was done for the insurance. But i'll go through my records and see if anything else helped expedite the process.

Hi Rick,

Welcome to the forum! I read your bio and see you're a GT 1A with the Q80K. I also see among the many attempts to treat, that you also failed Sovaldi and Olysio. I'm surprised you were able to obtain Harvoni as quickly as you did following that failure. Maybe you have some suggestions for our members on how you approached these often difficult approvals! Your journey has been a difficult one and I wish you the best this time around. I'll make some time to look at your blog, but ask you to share your story here as well.

I look forward to hearing more about your journey. Please keep us up to date on your progress. There will be a lot of people cheering you on! Good luck...

Tig

Greetings! I've been a member(lurker) here for a few months, but i believe it's about time i post something.

I am a vertical transfer, and was diagnosed at 13.
When i was 22 i took and failed my first treatment(tx), a Peg/Rib tx.
When i was 24, i tired again, a stronger dosage, but again no effect.
At 25 i took on my third treatment, with Peg/Rib/Incivek, and again it failed, and nearly killed me in the process.

My fourth treatment began not too long ago, in may of this year.
While i was untedectable at 8 weeks, and again at 12.
Within a month my bilirubin shot up and i was informed during a hospital stay that my treatment had failed, and by viral load was higher than when i began tx.
I have been on a transplant watch this for a few months now, that visit gave me my highest MELD.

So now, a few weeks ago i began Harvoni, i am on the 24 week plan.

I look forward to being an active member in this forum!

I started a blog when i began my third treatment, if you'd like you can follow my journey.

So, hello to all of you!smile
