Hey Rick,

Just know that you're not alone with the leg and knee pain after treatment. The more of you ending treatment are expressing the same complaints. I have seen that time is usually the answer, not that that helps much, but having success firmly in your sights, will I hope, ease some of that pain. Hang in there, the future shines bright! Good luck...

Thanks guys,
Seems I was getting more leg & knee pain towards the end of treatment. Funny I thought my legs would feel better since I lost 30lbs dieting & exercising. I wanted to take better care of myself while on treatment. Now that the treatment is over I will see how the legs feel. Thanks Rick

Hi Rick,

Congratulations on finishing treatment!! I know you're glad to have that chapter over with and now you're preparing to get some more good news. I'm sure that you'll be undetected because that seems to be the rule versus the exception with these new protocols. Come summertime you'll be sitting back enjoying the sunshine, celebrating your SVR! Good luck...

I went to my hep doctors office yesterday for a visit. Basically he wanted to see how my treatment was going. I was surprised he didn't want to check my labs since I was detectable last month. He was like no we will test at the end of your 12 weeks. He is so impressed with the Harvoni success rate In his office. He kept telling me not to worry and he would be amazed if i was still detectable. Fingers crossed. Rick

Thanks Guys.
I was newly informed when I made the post. It reminded me of the other 2 treatments that were detectable. I have calmed down. Tomorrow I can make a fresh start at a positive attitude. Wow Gigi 19mil to 21. Thats amazing. Later Rick

Aloha Rick

glad you are trying to be optimistic. I did sovaldi and Ribavirin. My doctor said I'd be UND at four weeks, I wasnt. but it went from 19 million to about 21. We did labs again at 8 weeks and I was UND. My doctor wanted me to stay on tx. For an extra month because it took longer but I was over those meds. He said I might relapse if I didn't take them longer but I didnt do the extra month and I am SVR. my doctor was very rigid in his thinking, don't know about yours. But the meds affect everyone differently. There is no normal. It just may be that it's going to take you a bit longer. And that's okay, it doesn't mean anything at this point. Your viral load has gone way down and that's a good indication that the meds are working. Stay positive, take your meds and take good care of yourself. I was crestfallen at not being UND at four weeks but it all worked out in the end.

Hi Rick,

I agree, this isn't anything to be worried about. Many have been detected at the 4 week mark on the Sovaldi/Harvoni protocols. It's a little early for some. I would be confident that your next test will be undetected. As Jill mentioned, your viral load had a huge reduction and that's a sign that the treatment is working as planned. I don't recall anyone that wasn't undetected at EOT on Harvoni. It has an extremely high rate of success. So BELIEVE your news will continue to get better! Hang in there....

Hi Rickk, that`s fine, no need to be worried.  You`ve had a huge drop in viral load in just 4 weeks, down from 11 million which is a very good indications that the treatment is working well!

We`ve seen this happening with other people on Harvoni and I`d be very surprised if you weren`t UND at your next VL test.

I can understand why you`re concerned after last time but really that`s a great result at this stage.  You`re on track...don`t worry.

Have you had any more lab results you could share with us?

My Dr's office just called. Nurse said my viral load went from 11Mil to 54 units. My last triple treatment took my viral load down to 47. I'm nervous my load Is gonna go back up like It did the last time. Im trying to be optimistic. Rick
