Congrats on the rapid Undetected. I did 3 lots of the old Interferon, so this will be a breeze.

Hi Bwana,

Welcome! Sounds like everything is going well and you're right, undetected results are the norm with Harvoni, but it's always nice to see it early. It's good stuff and after a course of Interferon, this is far easier thank goodness. 

You're in a beautiful place, the emerald green water is incredible! I'm so glad you were able to get Harvoni there as quickly as you did. Your diet and activity are a real benefit, so keep at it. Optimism is the driving emotion here, good luck!

Welcome to the forum, bwanacat.  We do offer a wealth of information, and more importantly, the support of members who have been down your road with Hepatitis C. Harvoni will be much easier to tolerate than interferon with a very high chance of SVR. You've already seen the positive results at 3 weeks with the UND report.

If your major concern is ODing on water, I think you're on the right path. Check out the Harvoni Treatment Train (http://hepcfriends.activeboard.com/t58762824/all-aboard-for-the-harvoni-treatment-train-enjoy-the-ride-fo/) and share your experience as you complete your 24 weeks.

I have just joined the forum and glad of it. I have found a wealth of information, and large numbers of well informed people.  I have had Hep C since 1970, I was badly wounded and required a blood transfusion, couple weeks later my urine looked like coca cola, and my eyes were yellow. Docs called it 'serum hepatitis' back then. I was in excellent shape, and never really felt sick, still had to rest til symptoms departed.  I was told anti bodies would remain in my blood, and my spleen was slightly enlarged. Twenty years later I was diagnosed with active Hep C. I gave up beer, and tried to maintain healthy lifestyle, vegetarian for forty years, physically active, and not drinking.

Seven years ago I did a year of non-peg interferon, viral load was 600,000 at start TX, after TX, 9 million. Non Responder they said.  I have been on Harvoni for 30 days, blood work at three weeks showed undetectable.  I live and work in the Bahamas so I am somewhat off the grid. I know geno is 1a, platelet count is low, and of course cirrhosis. I am signed up for the 24 week ride. From what I have read here seems undetectable at 3-4 weeks is fairly normal. The doctors office actually called me to give me this news, sounded very optimistic. Doctor also said my other labs looked very good, I don't have details or numbers yet. I remain positive, hopefully I won't OD on water.

Nice to know this forum exists.
