Hi and welcome!  I`ve seen this petition too, thanks for posting. 

This refers to the situation in the UK where NHS England has requested NICE (the National Institute of Care and Health Excellence) to delay implementation of its guidance, even though NICE have judged Sofosbuvir (Sovaldi) cost effective, and also to pause its assessments of similar drugs (e.g. Harvoni), on affordability grounds.

At the moment only the most severely effected people are getting treated with these new drugs in England, through a compassionate `early access` scheme, but many more are still waiting.  We have a couple of people on this forum who have successfully cleared the virus in this way.

We are expecting NHS England to allow general access to Sovaldi next month, according with the treatment guidelines from NICE, and I`ll be looking out for further updates on the situation.
