Hey Penelope.... we are not in a RV....when we move for a job we're usually there for a year or 1 1/2 yrs.

But right now we are on a 3 month job to fill in between jobs. We love to travel...but we hate to move..if that makes

any sense...Lol!! Seems like everywhere we go we collect more stuff..plus we have 2 cats, so an RV is out of the question

for us. But what an adventure that would be.....I'm sure y'all will be back on the road before too long :)

Kathy & Tig - thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

Tig - congratulations on achieving the CURE!  And you did it the hard way with inter/peg/rib.  My husband did those protocols shortly after being diagnosed and I saw how hard it was on him.  I'm glad it worked for you and you are well; that's so good!

Kathy - You have 5 weeks behind you - that's awesome!  Do you travel by RV for your husband's job?  I'm happy you're able to keep your 'nomadic' lifestyle.  That now-where-do-we-live decision can be stressful.  I hope you're feeling well and can enjoy the different places you go to. Best of luck to you and travel safe.

Penny

Hi Penelope and welcome!!

You are right ...the people here are very knowledgeable and have great advice. I'm into week 5 with 19 weeks to go.

Waiting on my week 4 lab results. And I know what you mean about treatment on the road.. we travel from state to state

for my Husbands job. I am very lucky that my Gastro Dr  has given me all my lab orders that I will need while traveling. Sounds like you

are well on your way to a better life. And....you have a treatment buddy ;)

Best of luck to you and your Husband!!!!

Hi Penelope (3P),

Such a positive post, I'm so glad to hear that you're taking the "bull" by the horns and plan to do this treatment by the numbers. If you stay the course and treat yourself right, and it sounds like you're both planning on doing just that, success will be upon you before you know it! These are powerfully effective medications with minimal side effects, that deliver what they promise, SVR for 95+% of the people that complete it. It just makes you smile!

It won't be long and you can both hit the road again if the urge strikes you. You're young and have lots of living to do. So look forward to great times ahead and keep up that positive attitude! I'm really glad you're both here... smile

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I've been so busy reading all the threads here and am so impressed with you all.  Everyone is so positive and supportive, and so knowledgeable.   This is a good place to be and I'm so thankful I found you all!

12 weeks seems like a long time, and for my hubby it's 24.  But we're 4 days closer to a cure than we ever were before, so that's my focus.  Concentrating on making healthy meals, lots of water, no packaged foods, minimal eating out, and (shall I say it again?) lots of water.

We're way over-weight and haven't ever really exercised, but are going to start with just walking, riding our bicycles, and paddling our kayaks.  We're fortunate that we were able to retire 2 years ago, so that makes everything easier...except for being broke all the time because we retired early.  hmm   But life is choices.  We sold our home when we retired and were able to live full time in our 16 year old motorhome for 2 years; something we had planned to do for years.  Then our doc said we needed to stay in one place if he was going to treat us, so we had to grow 'roots' again.  We hoped we could do tx on the road, but doc had other ideas. We can still take short trips or spend weekends in a nearby campground where our HOW (House On Wheels) is parked.  It's all good!  smile

So that's everything there is to know about me.  I'm pleased to meet you all and so blessed to have found you.  I look forward to the day when I can pay it forward and provide info, knowledge, or support to those who hop on the train after me.

ps - Bubble, 3P? I love that!!!

Hi 3P !  Welcome, this is great place to come to. Your Vikera-pac treatment is a very good one. There are a few like me currently waiting SVR news. I did the same skipping skipping the Victrelis 3 part. Wanted no more Interferon. So I am glad I waited also. You will be to ! Good to see you have your husband to coach and coach back. Keep us posted. The Vikerian list is small but growing. Good luck.

Hello Penelope

Welcome to the forum, you have found a good place with helpful members that can provide great insight in all things HCV. Your Abbvie protocol is a good one, but as with all HCV treatments adherence to the daily dose is one of the most important factor in acheiving SVR or a long term cure. The 12 weeks can be a long time to keep totally consistent but its the only way to receive the goal.

Hoping the best for both you and hubby

matt

Hi Penelope,

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad that you and your husband are getting the opportunity to start V. Pak. It's a great protocol and very effective. There will be lots of advice coming your way, and the one important thing I can tell you is to really concentrate on proper diet and hydration. Hydration is vital and will help keep the side effects at bay.

Here is our thread for the V. Pak Warriors among us. Take some time to read it and feel free to add to it. You'll get responses from the others sharing the train with you. I look forward to following your progress along the way. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Don't miss the search function at the top. It will take you to posts here pertaining to your keyword searches. It's very helpful. I'm so glad you're here! Good luck tomorrow!

Hubby and I are both starting Viekira Pak and Ribavirin tomorrow.  Like others, Express Scripts denied the Harvoni our doc prescribed.  But that's ok - any port in a storm, right?

I'm genotype 1a, and my viral load is 1.1m.   I was diagnosed in 1997, but l always had good labs, so the doc said I could wait for better drugs to come along.  Now here they are, and here I go!

Good luck to us all!

Penny

BTW - I'll do my signature line when I actually have some info - Having trouble getting copies of my labs...
