Hello Passengers, Saw my Hepatoligist yesterday and really outgunned him. He's a great Doc. He did not really explain the Alpha 2. But...Kidney trouble usually begins with Creatine levels and Albumin. Mine are fine and I can check that off. He is sending me to Jefferson Hospital in Philly for my 1yr SVR check up next September. They will perform a "FibroScan". No one has the machines in my state. What is that? I get the usual bloodwork plus this time a one year Quantitative HVC count. I even must do an ultrasound after my trek. I dont do biopsy's. I am pleased. I had his intern consulting Dr.Google and nurse WiKi on his smartphone. I hope all of you are staying Educated and Informed. Looks like SVR-34 ! Thanks to you all on here.

On to Springtime!

Sometimes it is best simply not to look back. Give me my SVR12 if I am to be so blessed and that is all I am looking for. The rest is just blood spilled in doubt.

Could you imaging getting hit by a bus on your way to a blood test 12 weeks after declared SVR?

Not me. EOT +12 = I am done with and buried the Dragon. Stinkin Lizard!

A time to cast away stones...

I think some of them make up the testing protocol as they go. Probably driven by the insurance limitations. They are certain the SVR12 is the test that determines longterm success. When I was finished, I had a test at EOT+12, 24 and 52. That was in 2014 and compared to today, that was still in the stone age! I wouldn't sweat it at all. You're done, finished, finito!! Enjoy life my friend, you earned it... Fire up the MGB and go!

Hello Pasengers, I talked to the nurse yesterday about the "No SVR 24" bloodtest. My hepatolagist says they now only test a year out. So this June I get a HCV Quantification Number. (SVR-52)  Was wondering what your Doc's do? I guess I am thinking I am cured with no remission. See the Doctor Monday. 80 degrees today up Northeast, I am getting out my MGB !!! smile

Yes Tig this was a Fibrosure. He hounds me for a biopsy. My original Fibrosure for Alpha before treatment was in the 0.344 area. Now 0.434. So it's going up. I have my energy, but aches in my liver area. The Necroinflamation seems to indicate fibrosis activity level. I seem to think and feel I am improving. Sleeping very well in years. Urine looks normal again. The riba has really backed off. Like you say it takes about a year. Oh well, on with springtime. I need Malcolms platelet count! (Very nice indeed) Nice to see more people with their ticket to ride.

Hey Bubble,

Not ordering an EOT+24 VL is the norm now. Once SVR12 is established, they consider you done. Now if there's reason to question a relapse, like suddenly elevated LFT's, then it's warranted. Other than the A2M, everything is in range. I'm assuming the A1-2/F3 was determined by what, Fibrosure? Since you recently achieved SVR, I'm of the opinion that it will take some time to recognize fibrosis regression, but the inflammatory score should begin to drop and A1-2 is headed in the right direction. From what I can tell, the A2M could indicate a kidney issue, but that's Dr. Google talking. There are several tests they can perfrom to make that determination.

Outside of that, how are you? Let me know what's going on when you have a minute.

Hi all, Much to my amazement my Doc did not order a HCV Quanitative. My Fibrosure is still showing F3. My AST: 30. My ALT:41. OK. Glucose is up over the limit by 2 points (Nothing new). Platelets have returned back down to 159. It has been 32 weeks since I have been off treatment. Did acheive SVR12. This is what I do not understand:

Alha 2 Macroglobulins: 433 (Way Up).....Is this suggesting Kidney problems?

Necroinflamation ACT Grade A1-A2........This was never reported before. Is this normal for reporting Fibrosis?

I guess my Doc is wathching for something new like cihrosis or cancer (?) Thought for sure a HVC Quan. would be performed. Any thoughts????
