Bill,

I was on interferon/ribaviron  years ago. Didn't  work. Lost 35 lbs. Constant nausea. Didn't  miss a day of work all year. It killed my thyroid.

Have been on Harvoni  sine June 24th. Am doing the 12 weeks. Undetected  after week 4. Week 12 bloodwork  on September 16. No sides except  a few dull headaches. No more  energy than before  but the pain that I  have had for almost  forever in the liver area is gone.

I am trying my best to do all the right things. Funnily enough,  last night my husband and I  went to a  wine dinner. There was a "guess the grape" contest where everyone tasted 7 different  wines from around the world and had had to guess what variety the wine was.  Guess what? I was the winner. Nobody  knew I  never touched a drop. Swirled and sniffed. I switched  glasses with my husband when he finished  his. These are not people  I know  we'll and didn't think it is anybody 's business.

hey Bill,

Glad to see you here and keep sharing. I was probably one of the first people in Pinellas County to share from the podium about HCV over 20 years ago. Wanted to do my part and try to educate folks. (for what its worth) They watched and helped me go through 2 unsuccessful treatments before the Harvoni did its trick.

Yes, our minds can take us to some bizarre places. But we have the tools and this place is one of them!

Keep on keeping on.

Hi Bill,

I had total knee replacement done in NJ 2 years ago.  The oxycontin  they sent me home made me throw up so they switched  med.  Pain for about 2 monthss. Make sure you do your physical therapy. It does get better.

I am on my last bottle of Harvoni.  3 more weeks to go.

Thank You all for your well wishes. I've been trying to get back on here to get my my mind off myself. I think often of this group especially Class of 2011-2012

Part of my journey after Harvoni was to Speak openly in AA about my battle with the Dragon. It's relative to many in AA ( many in AA are infected because Alcohol and Drugs go hand) Like me i didn't stick with the heroin but I tried it for a while so 30 yrs later here I am.

Surprisingly I only know of 3 people who got treated with Harvoni and cleared.    Even some who think their infected aren't rushing for treatment.  And the amount of young people using heroin now Don't see the reality in what will happen or that they are spreading HEP C  and Aids

Another percentage may be denial If they look into it they may have to stop using  and may think anyway there a cure for it now when I'm ready. I've been around 3 Overdosed funerals and one Gunshot Suicide all in their 20s

Sad Sad world needs a lot of help

And I have you guys My life wouldn't be the same without spending time with all of you

Bill,

I agree with Anna.  It's nice to hear from the veterans, even for us newer kids. Best of luck with your ongoing solutions.  You know how to persevere.  Yeah, get off that Oxy when you can. Your strength building should help.

Hi Bill, We need more "missing in actions" after treatment.  But it is human nature to just want to not be reminded of the many years we've had to deal with this shadow overhead.  Glad you cheeked back in.  I'm 65, so any odd physical symptom can be at least 50/50 on just getting older.  Maybe the percentage is even higher.

Oh, hello Bill, good to hear from you again!!  smile

I`m glad you worked out how to get back in here, with help from Tig, and I understand only too well about the brain fog!  confuse

Sorry you had to have a knee replacement, I`m sure it will be well worth it in the end in terms of mobility, once you`ve got through the healing process and the pain finally eases up, but in the meanwhile it must be very draining.  But you found the strength to get through a very long and difficult journey to finally clear yourself of Hep C  and you`ll get through this, it`s just another challenge along the bumpy road to better health.

Getting back to `normal` post Hep C tx is an ongoing process for many of us, especially for those of us who were infected for a long time.  And the clock just won`t stop ticking which doesn`t help either!

Great to see you back and I wish you all the best of luck, keep in touch!

Welcome back again, Bill! I'm glad we were able to get your original account back online for you. It took a little work, but we got it! Brain Fog be damned!!

The total knee doesn't sound like it would be much fun. Any orthopedic surgery is painful. We're getting into that age range where that becomes an issue. Makes me remember to take my Calcium every day! I hope you get that pain under control soon. It does take time and sometimes the medication is very necessary to assist in therapy and recovery. You'll be able to stop, just do it slowly. I'm a professional pain management patient. I understand the road you're on and it gets better.

We added a new menu item next to the search function called Recent Posts. That will provide the most current discussions. There has been a lot of new items added. If you need anything, let me know. I'm glad you're back!

IM  back  Never really left

At some point I misplaced my password  For the Bills Logon  A few days ago My brain sparked and said try a new name  DUH and Tigs Was able to resurrect my Bills Profile

Yes that's how bad brain fog can be.

I was still bouncing around in a funk about why the circulation in lower legs fatigue and edema ( I went for Total Knee replacement)  Full six week post TX  and still have pain)

Some things are getting better Go almost full range of motion. I Need to strengthen I'm pretty troubled using Pain Med  OXICondone  It's low dose by I've been doing for 6 weeks so I'm expecting a little withdraw. I'm in AA I remember withdrawals and also how The addictive mind thinks. Regardless of how this turns out  Knee Replacement is NOT FUN  Dont do it as a way to take time off work and relax.  No such thing as relax for me.

So Hard to say where I'm at after 2 Years HEP free I keep trying to get normal but it takes so much time

So How is everybody else  doing I'll Be poking around the main page see what I've been missing  More new drugs and Combos

Great to be back Thanks for all the inquires on ow I'm doing sorry about not answering so quick
